BaD - What I've Been Playing

I've actually been playing a lot of video games lately, if you include mobile games (and I do!).  First of all, I quit smoking camels and am rolling Bali Shag, a more natural tobacco without all the crap. I feel better already, and am smoking less and feeling calmer. So while I am still struggling with Writer's Block, I have been spending my time doing some gaming, as I've been more relaxed.

First of all, after a long time of reading about GoAztec's exploits with Simpsons, Tapped Out, I decided to try it. I don't love it, but it is a free-to-play game. It's funny sometimes though, but I think I'm gonna delete it.

Secondly, I've been playing Final Fantasy Dissidia Opera Omnia, another free-to-play mobile game. It's mostly turnbased combat without much story, featuring a wealth of popular FF characters. I don't love this either, but it's ok, and Chris Yarger is nuts about it and trying to get me to play co-op with him.

Next, I also downloaded the Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition, and I must say, it is FANTASTIC. It's basically FFXV but with Chibi graphics and less sidequests and a smaller world. Same voice acting and story. This is a premium game and the whole thing costs $20, but you can buy it in episodes. Honestly, I've played for two hours and haven't paid a thing, so you can definitely give it a try. I'm going to play it after this blog and can't wait.

I also downloaded Mercenary Saga Chronicles for the Switch, but I'm a little disappointed with it. It's like a RPGmaker Tactics game. maybe it's cool, but I've given up already.

ANyway, my love of gaming has been reignited this week after a few months of blah, and I'm very happy about it.

The redundant title of Mercenary Saga Chronicles should have been a warning flag lol. Maybe they could've called it Mercenary Tale Stories or Mercenary Battle Fights Tongue Out

Oh yeah, I definitely count mobile games as a viable gaming platform.

I didn't try the Dissida or FFXV mobile games, but I am played the new Dissida fighter on PS4.  It looks awesome but so far I like the PSP Dissida games better.  I may write a blog about it at the end of the month, maybe.

If you are in a mobile gaming mood, might I suggest...maybe...Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp? :)

I should roll me a Bali Shag and try my phone out for gaming. It's a cheap ass android, but it might do alright. I'd love to play a turn-based RPG on there.

I so am creating a rap song right now in my head about Bali Shag. What a great phrase.

I've been getting a lot of Switch indies lately to fill the void until Kirby comes out. The problem is I end up beating them fairly quickly. I got Dandara and beat it 100% in a little over 3 hours. I beat The Count Lucanor and got all 5 endings in 5 hours. Heck I even recently boughtLost Sphear and beat that not too long ago. It's funny I have like 10,000 other games I have yet to play and beat and I'm like " I got no games to play. I need to buy more to hold me over." lol

how was Dandara?  That looks interesting....

It's pretty fun. I enjoyed it for the most part. If I had a complaint it's how short it is. Like I said I beat it 100% in just 3 hours and I expected more from a game that's almost $20. It is fairly challenging too. You can only fire charge shots at enemies, but the missiles really saved me a lot. Too bad they have to be recharged to use. Makes the game so much more manageable.

Woooo Simpsons Tapped Out! It's cool you tried it. it stuck with me while other similar games I really didn't have any interest in. To be honest I haven't played Tapped Out in two months, I'm skipping the current games they are offering, they just don't appeal to me especially after they turned buying blocks of land into doing jobs to earn tokens. It's dumb.

I thought about tring FF because the first chapter is free. Maybe I'll give it a try later on today. It was the "Game of the Day" and I thought about giving it a spin.

It's probably the first really long game that isn't a Zelda that's held my attention so long and still doesn't feel like a chore.
