I had this happen to me with Skype. Someone took over my account, and Microsoft didn't help me at all. I vowed never to use Skype again. Maybe you could do a forum post on their somewhere.
Epic Games Problems

I checked my email an hour ago and it turns out someone created an Epic Games account with my email address. I changed the password and user name but I can't find a way to deactivate this account. I went to their Help page and it really is no help, and eventually I managed to send off an email about my problem and I was met with a quick reply of "Your email is not being monitored". This is frustrating. Apparently there is no way to cancel this account some yahoo made, and their help section is of no help. I also reached out on Twitter but after this experience I doubt they will get back to me. If you any you folks know a workaround I'd appreciate the advice. Anyways check your email and make sure someone didn't open up any accounts on their site.
Chris.
