Lookin' for jobs

Or so I've been telling everyone. What I've actually done is ask others if they've seen any offers and try to whittle down my grading pile while I'm still teaching.

It's raining and I'm tired.

Julian Titus sure does hate Jessica Jones characters.

I've played a bit more of Yakuza 0 and Kiwami because of course I have. I'm getting 6 with an art book for my birthday gift (best friend showed me the Amazon order a couple weeks back). A very shitty part of me kinda wants to buy the edition with art book AND glassware and trade in the art book edition. Maybe you can buy those separately.

I probably have enough saved up I can travel outside the country comfortably, so I'm thinking about it.

How are you?

Travel. I hope one day I can afford to do that, even within the U.S..

I say I can afford it, but it might still be best to hold back. I do want to go outside the country though, and maybe doing so would also serve as a way to tell employers that was my plan all along if they ask about any gaps in my work history.

so did you play all the Yakuza games or can you start witht he latest one and work you way back? I played the Yakuza6 demo and it was super great! I loved all the wrestling moves and running around Tokyo shops. So expensive though!

I've only played 0 and Kiwami, but might just look up the "movies" for 2-5 on YouTube before getting into 6. I don't have a PS3 or PS2, so there's no way I can continue in series order unless I wait until Kiwami 2 comes out.

I've heard 6 jumps far ahead enough in time after 5 you won't be lost playing it, though you'd get more out of it if you know Kiryu's story. It just depends how I feel once it arrives, really.

I didn't get a chance to play the 6 demo before SEGA had to pull it from our region when people continued past the 6-hour mark or whatever the demo was supposed to stop at, but I'm a fan of the series already from the two titles that have come here recently.

As far as the money goes, are you thinking of it in terms of one yen = $1 USD? Cause one yen is actually closer to one American cent if I'm not mistaken. They make a big deal out of how great the economy is in Yakuza 0's 1988 setting and I thought, "who the hell would wave $10,000 at an effing cab?!" Turns out 10G in yen is roughly $100 USD, which is still absurd for a cab but not nearly as much as I thought.

I looked it up online, and while it's not completely accuracte, a good rule of thumb is to convert yen to USD by moving the decimal left two places.

Asking others if they know of any openings count. I got a couple of jobs that way and usually the people you know often can open some doors.

Any idea of where you want to travel? Before you decide on a place to go, check out YouTube for packing tips. Its fascinating to see how little people pack and investing in some travel cubes is the way to go.

Well, it's who you know not what you know half the time, so I definitely don't see the harm in it. lol

I'd definitely have to research a lot more before actually travelling. Case in point, I do not in fact have a specific destination in mind. lol This was more of a looking at my bank account, seeing how well I've been saving money and the thought popping in a my head as a result kind of thing.

I want to travel this year too. At least I'm going to San Fran this weekend for a short trip. Baby steps.

it's a beautiful city. Lots of great food and fun things to do. But way expensive.
