Fell off the face of the earth and resurfaced

It has uhhh... been quite some time since the last blog I see....wow I honestly fell off the face of the earth for a while there. Honestly, life the last few months even before last year ended was not the best for me. I was under a lot of stress and I was not in a happy place at all mentally and basically just pretended everything was fine till I suddenly broke down at the beginning of March and just realized I am not okay and I need to escape. Thankfully a business trip I had coming in March helped a lot more than I realized it would have and seriously got me back to a much better state of mind. I'm more positive and better managing the stress still in my life.

2018 Has been a rocky year thus far - it's been a year of a lot of good changes mixed with some bad stressors every so often. But it's honestly a year more of personal growth and change for me. My bf and I are finally looking at houses to rent, he's possibly getting a new job and we are waiting to hear back on if he gets it or not to see which list of houses we are going with to look at, streaming has been going very well even though I have a super odd duck schedule for the next few months (March - May are crazy months for me), I've lost a lot more weight and gain more muscle, and of course I am still gaming and trying to finish games when I am able to since my library keeps growing! I am sure there's more but as you can see a lot going on for me this year and it's all mainly good.

Gaming wise it's mainly been through streaming - I have not really been playing many games on my own free time as of lately. Sometimes I'll play an Otome game but generally, it's been through my streaming days. I have recently been playing SaGa Frontier and it's been a headache at times, Lunar Silver Star Story Complete and Dragon Quest Builders. I've completed the entire Suikoden series (minus the DS game) last year from June - December. Finished Tales of Berseria, eventually I am planning to after SaGa Frontier replay through Super Mario RPG. I have a whole list of games lined up for the rest of the year for streaming.

I am going to PAX East for the first time this year so I am pumped about that! I figured it would be an awesome way to network with others and just, in general, see what some of the new upcoming games are! I leave tonight and I am very very excited! I'll only be there from Thursday - Saturday but if anyone else is going it would be awesome to meet up and say hi! I know Thursday I will mainly be in line for the Markiplier line since I really wanted to go see him live.

I know I have said this a million times before but I am going to try to blog a little bit more now that I don't feel so crazy and I have things more under control. I am sad I missed BaD again but there is always next year!

What's everyone else been playing so far? I know a lot of awesome games have come out that I still need to purchase for myself.

I've been to PAX West and PAX South, but not PAX East.  I may actually skip out on PAX West this year, even though I've been for the past...almost ten years?  But the reason for that is I actually got approved for a press pass to E3 thsi year!  So I may go to that instead.  It's been a while since the last time I was at E3.  I wonder why they decided all of a sudden to let me in after all this time?

Anyway, congrats on losing weight and gaining muscles!

Right now I'm reviewing a lot of little games but mostly playing Kirby Star Allies.  I should get back to Lost Sphear, though.

That is awesome you get to go to E3 again this year!!! That should be a really fun time!. I still need Lost Sphere and the new Kirby game...I have seen a few people playing them and they look like really amazing games!

Hey welcome back! BaD was fun, but I got behind in reading/replying. Good to read about personal growth, and managing stress. If it helps, having a good hobby that clears your head. Heck just a walking around for an hour while listening to music/audiobooks/podcasts can do the trick.

PAX East and a new place. That's some good stuff right there!

I've been playing Arms on the Switch (I like it), Lego Ninjago, Switch (I'm not as excited), and random games on Steam.

Thank ya!

Yeah I was just basically pushing it aside and not dealing with it and letting it overwhelm me where I realized I need to just talk about it more than keep it in is mainly my issue. I hold too much to myself lol. So something to work on!

Arms is fun! my boyfriend has it and we play it every now and then! Gives you more of a workout than you would think >_<

Congratulations on the weight loss and hope you feel less stressed.

I think the only let's players I can really watch are Game Grumps, but Markiplier seems like a really decent guy. I just can't handle the constant yelling. lol

I'd still like to meet/see him though, cause he seems to have a great personality.

Good to hear from you again.

Thats' exciting, going to con and meeting real people you know online. I'm going to RetroCon later this month and will meet a bunch of celebrities from movies mostly.

I went from playing Tales of Berseria to playing Tales of Vesperia, a game I've had forever and has just been sitting there mocking me from Mount Backlog. And you're right, Berseria was awesome.

Berseria was AMAZING! So much better than Zesteria. I still need to be Vesperia as well! I was thinking of playing a bunch of Tales of games next year on stream to get them off my mountain of games as well!

I actually preferred Zestiria. I think it was a mix of the art style, the discoveries, and I really liked the story and characters.

My biggest gripe with Zestiria was parts of the gameplay - I was not a fan of the equipment system they had and the battle system was a little annoying at times but understandable why it was done the way it was.

Otherwise I did like the story and characters of it - for some reason though I feel Berseria did it better.

Welcome back!

I must have fallen into the same worm hole as you the last few months. I haven't been keeping up with new games at all, aside from whats free on PS+ or indie games on PC, so there's not much to blog about. Also, I was playing Zelda most of the time since Christmas and that blocked out a bunch of games.

Curious if you've ever tried the Atelier series? The PS3 ones are my favorite and should be pretty cheap by now. Particularly the last ones to release.

I've caught your live streams here and there. You are very knowledgable about your games and informative with chat, my favorite kind of streamers. Its an interesting way to get through a backlog. You got any tips for streaming?

I have played Atelier! On another channel called RetorRPGRevival I have played Atelier Iris 1 and 2 on there to the end and right now working on Iris 3 but slowly as I have not been streaming weekends and that's when I normally stream on there.

Thank you! I try to look up as much as I can on some games without spoiling it for myself or if it's a game I already played I know it like the back of my hand sometimes. Or one I really really really like lol.

Tips for streaming: just do it if you want to, that's the hardest part is clicking the stream button to go live. Have a schedule if you can, do not do it for the money. I personally stream as a hobby and a fun thing to do - I never will expect it to become a full-time career mainly just a part-time one really. Also, ignore the viewer count it'll make you go crazy and obsessive. and have fun! take time off if you need to.
