Well, the Atari VCS has made its official preorder coming out party. Are we looking for a sleek looking console that plays old school Atari games and stream media? Or are we satisfied with having the 2600 from our childhood? Honestly the limited  edition VCS does look tempting but, am I or you willing to drop $300 for this system... The regular black VCS is $200, if I get one that may be the one.

Let me know your thoughts.

I love Atari games, but my favorite Atari game, Solaris, is never on any of these collections because it wasn't published by one of the big companies. Damn if I didn't play that game endlessly though. I'd love to try it again.

See, things like this is a good reason just to have the old system. That way you can always  find a copy of that one game you loved as a kid that never get put in collections.

Very true. I kept an Atari for a while, but over the years it just got lost.

Interesting. I read the Forbes article. So it has 100 built-in games but it functions like a Steam Box and runs a Linux OS. Ok. I like it's small size. I had to get rid of my Atari 2600 because it was so bulky in my apartment. If I was in the money, I'd give it a shot and download Linux compatible games from Steam and Good Old Games to it.

That’s it. Did you see what the storage size will be? I’m not sold completely yet, the steam style boxes just do not seem to sale that well. I guess when I think of Steam I think PC.

I'm seeing 32 GB microSD on wikipedia. 4 GB RAM.

I'm intrigued by it but probably won't buy one. I never had an Atari so other than knowing some games from other platforms I have no skin in the game. We'll see.

I want to be excited but I’ve seen where consoles like this end up. I want it to succeed don’t think I don’t .

Looks neat, but a bit pricey so I'll have to do more research to see if I really want one.  Maybe I can find more info on it when I meet with Atari at E3?
