This reminds me I need to download Steam on my new laptop.
Finished One, Uninstalled Another, And A Couple I'm Playing

So things here are getting back to normal. I’m back to a kind of regular sleep schedule, no longer couch surfing, and I may have finished a game I started awhile ago. I also said farewell to another game that I played for years and I felt it was time to stop and replaced it with a time waster that I stopped a couple of years ago just to pick it back up. Not a bad couple of days.
Chris Finishes…
Grid 2 - Steam: As it turns out I was on the last group of races but never really realized it until I looked at the names of the events. I was stuck on this one timed event for a super car when I figured to cut my losses because I wasn’t going to use it in a race, so I just concentrated on the remaining events when I saw the ESPN Event. It was basically five race tournament and the winner is considered the uber champion of the universe…or something close*. Anyways I finished and I got an interesting montage of images of newspapers and magazines with my name on it proclaiming me as the uber champion of the universe.
I like Grid 2 over Motorsport because there was a focus, a story mode where you had to work for something instead of a presentation of five different disciplines within racing that you had to complete and then race for the hated Ravenwest squad if you wanted those sweet achievements. In fact I was going to play Motorsport but it wouldn’t load, so I went with Grid 2 and then proceeded to finish the game. Good game, lots of fun for a oldie, but pretty arcade-ish racing game and a manager who kept telling me to don’t be so aggressive. I like the game and probably won’t uninstall the game.
*get it, uber, as in outstanding or supreme as well as a car service, to describe my championship in a racing game? That’s solid 9am humor right there.
Chris Plays…
Mantis Burn Racing - Steam: Think RC Pro Am on the NES but with better graphics, that’s what this game is. Now looking at the recommended specs my laptop can run it with ease yet when I launched it instead of getting crazy FPS I was hitting 15. Really odd especially at default resolution. I couldn’t figure out what was wrong, and nobody online had an answer so I dropped the resolution down and then I was finally hitting the 60fps. Odd considering Grid 2 looks amazing and it is an older game while this one is top down racer with limited tracks.
The game itself isn’t bad once you get the hang of it. It’s like driving on ice, and there’s no emergency brake so it’s slow down during turns, gun it at the top of the turn and hope for the best. There are some upgrades but you are warned that if you make your car too fast, it will be come difficult to control. Apparently it will be like driving on super slick ice or something. I played through the first season of rookie and it was fine, and I upgraded my car as well as leveling it up so I can add more mods. Decent game, and I’m glad I didn’t spend a lot on it especially since I got the Steam version instead of the Switch version. The Steam version I bought the game, and all DLC’s including a freebie that took forever to download for less than the Switch vanilla copy.
FTL: Faster Than Light - iPad: On Sunday night when I was kind of paying attention to one of those Dateline type shows, I fired up the game, and played the tutorial. I like the objective of the game and I started up a regular game. You have control of this ship and with a small crew you jump from one section of the galaxy to another. Along the way you come into contact with different folks, pirates, civilians, aliens, folks selling goods, and what not. You have a mission where you’re supposed to deliver some special paperwork and on this journey you are met with challenges. Do you attack the pirates who are attacking civilians, or do you ignore it.
During battle you can send your crew to repair different sections of your ship while powering up weapons and focusing your fire on the enemy ship. Eventually the enemy ship will try and offer a truce but who wants that. You blow them to bits, collect the scrap and go on your merry way. I would be yelled at by Picard on Star Trek TNG. I like this game but I saw online that it is available on Steam for a couple of bucks, and there is a cheat program you can use as well as mods to change the layout of your ship to say, a certain small battleship from Star Trek Deep Space 9 as well as other sci fi ships. I might spend the money and give this a spin while actually playing a legit game on the iPad and continue to learn the gameplay mechanics on how to get past the third galaxy.
Mobile Game Fun
Simpsons Tapped Out: I said goodbye to this game over the weekend by uninstalling it from the iPad. We had fun but I lost interest in the game. Hell I think I’ve been playing it for maybe 7+ years.
WWE Supercard: I brought this game back on a whim because I was messing around on my Android Music Player (former phone) and I was enjoying it so I went back to my iPad and downloaded the game, and got my old content. I started playing when it was first introduced and I think I got in close to 800 games before I stopped for two seasons. Well it is season 4 and I’m back and I unlocked these two cards
I joked that I was done collecting cards at this point and I should retire. I’m still playing.
Disney Emoji Blitz: The current event involves Finding Nemo and since I already have Nemo and Dory all I needed was these two emojis
Disney Heroes Something Something: At some point I’ll learn the name of the game. There’s another event going for this game but it seems like the folks that will earn the goodies from this event are the ones who spend a lot of money. Shame considering the Incredibles event was a lot of fun and I unlocked some special emojis within the game.
I was also #1 for a short time in Arena before the guy/gal who I beat decided to take me out. We both advanced to the next silver stage.
Alright Pixlpeeps I am off. I’m hungry, a little tired, and I need to get moving. Have a good week!
That’s all for now, more later!
