Gosh darn video games are great aren't they? Ive been playing a few. Ive also been watching some shows. Now I'm going to talk about them!

God of War

So I finished God of War and... well I have some mixed opinions about it. I'm working in an in depth analysis of it, but for now let me just say that the camera is fucking terrible. Why can't i control the camera independently of Kratos? This is basic shit we sorted out two generations ago!

There's some really cool shit in this game though. I mean, the story is pretty excellent For a start. The side content though.... honestly I could have done without a lot of it, especially since most of it involves climbing. And this game has to have the slowest climbing speed ive seen in a game. Is it realistic? If kratos werent a fucking God with super human strength maybe.

 The two realms you can unlock are frankly fabulous though. I'm going to mildly spoil some cool gameplay stuff in the endgame here so if you're not okay with that, maybe skip to the next game on the list. We cool? 

 Cool.

 So there's a realm you can unlock that adds essentially a rogue like mode to God of War. Essentially, it's a large dungeon that you can only spend so much time in before the mist suffocates you to death. If you die in the dungeon, you lose any of the cool loot you may have gained. so you have to go in, collect the loot and get out without dying - and it's a fucking blast! I love this mode so much that I'd probably play it as a standalone game, especially as a standalone game Would have a better fucking camera!

Speedrunners

Imagine a world where super meat boy was Mario kart. And also you controlled Spider-Man. This is what speedrunners is.

 If you like couch multiplayer, buy this game. If you like twitch platformers, buy this game. If you like fun, buy this fucking game!

 Basically, it's a racing platformer where you swing, slide, and boost your way to victory, learning shortcuts and various tricks to aid you to victory. There are also Mario kart style power ups, but none of these feel cheap or unfair like in Mario kart, which is a game designed to ruin friendships. Oh daryl,  how nice of you to blue shell me while the Ai shrinks me and I get hit by a counting red shell. Eat a dick Daryl!

Also, this game has a really nice online community where people will actually stop and wait for you to catch up and teach you moves that will help. I've honestly only met nice people playing online so far, it's great. There's also botplay and a short campaign if you only want to play solo, but this is primarily a multiplayer experience. And maybe my favourite multiplayer experience? Bilby and I have been having a dMn blast with it, that's for sure.

My Crazy Ex Girlfriend

I... really wasn't expecting this to be any good. I mean, it has that name, it's on CW and by all accounts it seemed like generic rom com trash. What I got was an oddball musical that feels a lot like Kimmy Shcmidt. It's dark, and hilarious, and wonderful. And the songs! The songs are fantastic! Whether they're about having a girl crush and literally wanting to be that girl (including wearing her skin and having her comment on how good she looks in her skin, to having one guy be every member of a boyband that are also fully licensed medical professionals.

 At the very least, give this show three episodes. It sets up rom com tropes to saki do of take a huge dump on them, so it may seem a little generic for the first little bit. I promise it's fucking hilarious though!
