I was on Nerds Without Pants

The first time, I was meant to be on to guest a regular episode, but the Skype update hated everyone, so Julian had to post a Digital Mystery Tour instead.

Week after that, Skype was presumably fine, but there was a scheduling conflict that meant Julian and I were the only ones available to do the show. Since Julian didn't want to do the Stage Select topic without the person whose idea that topic was (Patrick) and we both love yakuza anyway, and since Julian's Kiwami 2 review came out recently, and since Fist of the North Star's demo is out (it's apparently yakuza, but with FotNS setting) I suggested doing a yakuza special. Apparently, Julian liked the idea, cause he uploaded just that after doing his hosting and editing magic and here we are.

Please listen to the podcast on the front page of this here website and tell me what ya think! I'd love to be on a regular NWPcast, as was the initial goal, but hopefully the yakuza special is a good holdover for anyone curious.

If I wanted to join in on this podcast or any other one for that matter, what would I need? I'm totally clueless about this stuff, but I'd like to try it sometime.

I just used my onboard mic on my laptop and used Audition to record and edit a part of it. Julian has a Yeti mic I believe p and uses lAudacity ( which is free) to record and edit.

You should figure out a way to do it, Cary. I'm sure your computer has a mic, and the software is free. You have a lot to say about games.

Do you not have a laptop or home computer? That's really all you'd need that isn't free.

Like I said, I used my onboard mic and Julian uses Audacity to edit. If "edit" makes you think of some complicated rig you have to navigate, it's really not that complex, especially for audio-only shows, and you could start out just hitting record and talking.

Hell, technically all you really need is a recorder and somewhere to save the files.

I don;t know if it's on XBO or just PS4, but it plays like Yakuza yet has the trappings of an anime called Fist of the North Star.

Should be out this Wednesday if on schedule. Hopefully the yakuza one has enough to get someone unfamiliar interested in the series or at least not bore them to death. I worry about that when it's all one topic, but I was supposed to be on a regular episode that had to be pushed back and suggested doing a yakuza special to Julian, since we're both fans and that way he'd have something to post for NWP.
