Monster Hunter Stories

I saw the other day that the well-regarded 3DS game Monster Hunter Stories has been ported to mobile. The visuals have been upgraded to HD (on the 3DS they were 240P), and apparently it's a great port. At $20 it's probably cheaper than the 3DS version nowadays too. If you're not familiar with it, it's a Monster Hunter game, but with cartoon visuals and a turn-based battle system. Apparently it's very good. I'll probably get it - I need a new iPad game to play.

We're supposed to get a lot of rainfall here in Phoenix starting today due to a tropical storm/depression on the West coast. The temperature is going to go down to the 80s (it's been in the 100s in the afternoons). They're saying we're gonna get a year's worth of rain in just a couple days, so we'll see. My mom is cleaning up her stuff in the backyard because we're supposed to get high winds too.

I'm still playing Dragon Quest, but I'm WAY behind Ranger1. I've been working on my writing, and also distracted by the news, so I haven't been able to tear myself away too much. It is a lovely game though, and I like it very much.

I'm getting hyped for the new Red Dead. The first one was one of the few games I have played to completion in the last ten years or so, so I really liked it. I was considering upgrading my hard drive on my PS4 in time to a 2TB drive... I might, it seems easy, so maybe I will.

Anyway, hope you all are great!

I've never played Monster Hunter Stories (or any Monster Hunter game for that matter), but in Japan they did release six different amiibo figures of Monster Hunter Stories and I have them all.  I wonder if they'd still work on the US version of the game?

Oh yes, Monster Hunter is very popular in Japan.  In fact, a few years ago in the 3DS game Animal Crossing: Happy Home Designer, for a limited time you could get Monster Hunter furniture to decorate with.  Even in the US!

I thought I heard that Monster Hunter Stories was coming to Switch but I just checked and it must have just been a rumor. That would certainly be cool though.

Maybe it still will.

As we are seeing *cough cough FFVII & IX cough* anything is fair game for the Switch!

I played the demo for Monster Hunter Stories and liked it.

I saw my library is getting Red Dead 2 when it comes out. I'll be able to rent it eventually. It's going to have a lot of holds, just like Spider-Man does now.

I didn't play the demo, but I meant to.

Red Dead looks great!

Ahh yes Hurricane/Tropical Storm Rosa. We were supposed to get hit as well but all we got were sprinkles and clouds with a dash of humidity. Other parts of the valley got some rain but my area didn't get any.

So the Monster Hunter game is a 3DS port. That's good to know. I saw some talk about it on Reddit and thought it would be a good pickup especially since you don't need an internet connection to play single player.
