Any plans for Halloween? I'm going to make a jack-o-lantern since it seems they took that recipe out of Minecraft for XBO recently.
Spooky Reviews!

Well OK there’s not really anything spooky about these reviews. It’s just close to Halloween so…yeah. Anyway, here’s the latest batch of reviews I’ve written recently at GamerDad.com. Please click on the links and read as many as you can, and maybe even post a ‘like’ or a comment or two. I’d appreciate it. Thanks!
G.P. the GamerPuppet Unboxes the Mega Man 11 amiibo Edition!
Well, I was lucky enough to get the amiibo edition of Mega Man 11! I really wanted the game on the PS4, but the Switch version was the only one who had it like this, so I guess I’ll take it on the Switch! Check out what all you get by clicking on my review! So how is Mega Man 11? It’s pretty good, but definitely won’t be on my top five Mega Man games list. I’m glad there are multiple difficulty settings, as the game on normal is as hard as the last two were, which is too hard in my opinion. Also the music is rather bland and too techno-ey. The best songs are Fuse Man and Blast Man’s stages, and that’s pretty much it. The game itself only costs 30 bucks, like a budget title, and in many ways the game feels like one. Not always a bad thing, but not always good either. So Mega Man 11 isn’t bad, but it’s not as good as my favorites, like Mega Man 2, 3, 8, and X & X4.
Pinball FX3: Solo: A Star Wars Story (PS4)
I actually liked the Solo movie, even though it bombed in theaters. I think I liked it even better than The Last Jedi. So here’s a pinball game of it. The best table is the one featuring Lando. I’m sure I’ve told you all before that I’ve met the original actor who played Lando, Billy Dee Williams, at PAX one year. That’s one of the feathers in my game reviewing cap. The Lando pinball table features his adventures from the Solo movie, comics, cartoons, and the other two movies, so Zen Studios really did their homework!
When I was a kid one of my favorite arcade games was Marble Madness. I even had it on the NES, that’s how much I liked it. So I’m always up for playing and reviewing any kind of marble rolling maze game, whether it be Super Monkey Ball, Marble Blast Ultra, etc. So I definitely snapped up the chance to review Marble it Up, downloadable on Switch. It’s kind of a cross between Super Monkey Ball and Marble Blast Ultra. In fact, many of the team members of Marble Blast Ultra worked on this game, too! There’s not a lot of variety in this game, but I still enjoyed it a lot anyway.
So I guess this is a Halloween themed game because it has to do with candy. It’s an arena fighter featuring various types of gummy candy. I did like how they used all sorts of popular gummy candy as fighters, like bears, cola, fried eggs, hamburgers, sharks, etc. You can even have them be sugar coated. Unfortunately, the gameplay is horrible.
Phantomgate: The Last Valkyrie (iPad)
This is a free-to-play mobile game that’s a cross between a 2-D platformer and a turn based RPG. It kind of reminds me of a really good RPG I reviewed a couple of years ago called Child of Light. And aside from the free-to-play crap, this is a pretty good game, too. It features Norse mythology themes so that’s cool, too.
Arcade Islands: Volume One (PS4)
This is a collection of arcade style games for up to four players. It’s not great, but not bad either. It serves its purpose. If anyone remembers my review of Party Planet on the Switch, you know what to expect with this one, as they are almost the same games.
This is a unique multiplayer game where each person helps design a small 2-D platforming obstacle course, and then everyone tries to make it to the end. You can place items that’ll help your or hinder others. You choose barnyard animal characters to play as like a horse, chicken, sheep, etc. My main big problem with the game is that it’s useless if you are the only player. It won’t let you do anything unless you have more.
And last is this 2-D brawler featuring ninja cats trying to save their sensei from a bloodhound riding a mech. Gameplay isn’t very good, though, and it doesn’t do anything that Castle Crashers or the TMNT arcade games do better. I do have extra PS4 codes if anyone wants one. Just post a picture of something you think I’d like in the comments section and I’ll send you a code in a message.
One more thing, in preparation for the upcoming Switch game: Pokemon: Let’s Go Pikachu, I downloaded Pokemon GO on my cell phone to try it out. If anyone wants to add me as a friend, if anyone stil plays it, here is my friend code: 8882 7988 8705
And that’s all for now! Thanks for reading my reviews and posting ‘likes’ and comments. I do really appreciate it. Happy Halloween! --Cary
