I remember getting totally hooked on the History Channel one time on a vacation, and I don't usually watch much television.
Tapes! Holly cow! Haven't seen those in a while. Don't have a player for them anymore either.

Well good morning Pixlpeeps! It is a nice Saturday morning and I am still in bed watching TV. For some odd reason my cable company now offers the Smithsonian Channel and I’ve been watching it non stop since the end of the Rose Bowl Parade. They have a series called Aerial America where it’s a little bit history, and just views of different parts of the country. It is an amazing show and currently I am watching an epsisode about water. It has all these views and it is amazing. Anyways as I lay here I am debating on going to the library, and checking out their offerings for today but before I do so, let’s catch up a bit.
Last library visits I really didn’t take in checking out the books and media they have but rather I spent a couple of minutes in their “Friends of the Library” Bookstore which is in a little room and spilled out to two book stacks outside of it’s door. The pricing is simple: .10 for magazines, .25 for everything else. There are tons of interesting books that were donated and older books no longer in circulation. My favorite section is the media section which is constantly being updated and has VHS tapes, DVDs, and my favorite, CD’s. My first visit I got lucky and found this for .50
A brand new National Geographic book about the West, and The Beatles Rubber Soul. My second trip I found four albums
I finally have the album that is home to Lisa Loeb’s single “Stay”, and a 90’s Compilation that has a couple of tracks I don’t have for my 90’s ultimate playlist. I’m trying to build up my Classical Music collection so the other two albums were perfect.
The best part about my local library is that it is close to three thrift stores so I can make a little trip out of it. I will skip one of the thrift stores because the lady who is in charge is not a person you want to deal with.
Stop me if you heard this before: I bought new headphones. Well they’re ear buds, technically they are In Ear Monitors. Once again while perusing the internets I saw that people loved these IEM’s and the best part was that they are cheap, around $23 bucks.
I bought the KZ-ZSN ($23) and a replacement cable the KZ-ZST Replacement Cable ($15). I figured since they all use the same connectors, I would opt for the cable that looked like a thicker better quality cable than the one that came with the IEM’s. I also like the braided look.
Simple packaging. Nothing fancy
The little pouch is full of tips, and the bigger pouch is the original cable.
I replaced the tips with ones that I purchased awhile ago that I feel comfortable with, and I have used them for a couple of days and here are my impressions: They are really good especially for the price. The highs are clear but there could be points when they get a little too high, if that makes sense. The bass is strong, crisp, and the mids are solid. These are a lot clearer than the Actionpie earbuds I bought a while ago, which were also round the same price. If anything I would say the KZ ZSN really have a clear and strong treble that I really like. As much as I like tinkering with the EQ settings, the only thing I did was maybe lower the Bass a tad and was it.
I have to say the Chinese made HiFi is becoming amazing with all their offerings. Next paycheck I will take the plunge and try out a Chi-Fi Digital Audio Player.
I went out on Thursday to do some music shopping, hit the library in the next town that’s fancy (I didn’t find anything in their “Friends of the Library” Bookstore) and bought some lunch at Popeye’s. The Mom & Pop never disappoints and I found some stuff

I went after all the Jazz tapes in the box, and I am planning on ripping them with my USB to Audio Cassette player I bought awhile back.
From the Thrift Store next to Popeye’s I found these items
I know I’m not really supposed to buy games but I’ve wanted this for a bit and it’s more for the collection than actually playing. It was a little steep at $4.99 but it was one of the games I wanted to add to the library.
In music I found these albums for $1.99 each
Marilyn Manson - Mechanical Animals
LL Cool J - Pink Cookies In A Plastic Bag CD Single (replaces the 12” that I sold)
Fun Lovin’ Criminals - Come Find Yourself (replaces digital copy)
Rage Against The Machine - Renegades

Alright Pixlpeeps I must get up. It’s almost 11, and maybe I should check out the local library. Anyways have a good weekend!
That’s all for now, more later!

The Jabras are very nice. They don't have the bass some look for but I prefer a balanced sound. They are clear, detailed and open. My only gripe with them so far is that they have a tendency to pop out when I yawn and no one wants their expensive earbuds roiling around on an airplane floor.
Long beach was great. Private party at Gladstones on Wednesday, Same at Aquarium of the Pacific Thursday and then a semi-formal casino night on Friday to top it off.
