Inevitably BaD

I was musing about BaD and how long we've been here on Pixlbit now. I don't quite remember what year 1up fell to pieces and we made our new home here, but I don't really miss 1up much anymore. I found I've made friendships on Pixlbit that the more busy 1up probably wouldn't have allowed. There are less people here, but Ive gotten to know people better.

I don't play as many games as I used to, as I'm so work obsessed, but I still think and read about video games and keep up with the news and developments. It''s a great time for games, with something for everybody out there.

Mostly I've been playing Tales of Vesperia on the Switch, which is kind of like hanging out with an old friend. I forgot how good that game is. Definitely my favorite Tales game.

Anyway, I'm preparing for BaD and was thinking about these things.

My favorite Tales game is Tales of Legendia. Have you ever played that one?

I haven't played that. Symphonia was my first, but Vesperia was when I really got into the series.

There were some things I liked about 1Up that I wish were here but overall Pixlbit feels like a close community. If 1Up would have continued I would have probably stopped writing about my randoms years ago, and I think one of the reasons why I am still writing away is because of the people here.

As for BaD I am going to just see where it takes me this year. I may just post a pic one day, write some random novel the next, who knows, but it should be fun.

I miss some of the staff writers from 1Up bring in one place. I think Jeremy Parish is one of the best games journalists of all time. I agree on visiting my oldvfriold of ToV. One of the best Tales games.

It has been hard to find the time to come and visit Pixlbit. I miss it some days.

I wish I could play more games, but between infant daughter and a relatively new job I only have a couple hours in the morning on the weekends. Which means it will probably take me a month to beat RE2.

It was in early 2013, it was announced sometime in February that 1up would be closing, which was probably halfway into Blog a Day there. It was that year we were all making our way to Pixlbit. I still miss 1up, but I think I have gotten over it honestly. Most of the people who I met there are here on Pixlbit so it really doesn't matter anymore.

As for BaD, yeah I'm participating in it as usual and have blogs ready to go. I'm just waiting for the actual day lol

Right, Feb 2013 is when I switched over. I loved 1UP. I was there since 2010. I was listening to a lot of 1UP podcasts at the time. I remember looking at page stats telling me how many times a page was looked at. I never knew if it was real people or bots though.
