I'm in the middle of a life transition and may be sporadic with BaD.

Pretty sure if anything I'll post videos of the games I'm playing each day, possibly complete with my commentary. I'm playing Iris.Fall and working on a video review of GRIS (Script is written, audio is recorded, and footage is captured, now just need to edit it all together ... once I either find a free editor or more likely re-buy Adobe Cloud).

Happy tax season, everyone!

Where do you post your video reviews?

I've only done one so far. I had to do a text review for Life is Strange 2 Episode 1 cause my teacher discount on Adobe ran out and I wasn't in a position to re-buy it but I should get that taken care of shortly.

Here's the video review of My Brother Rabbit I did: http://www.pixlbit.com/review/1029/my_brother_rabbit_review

Sadly, I didn't think to check the ratios I created after hitting "Set to Frame Size" in Premiere before uploading, but hopefully it looks good otherwise.

Premiere is some serious shit.

I use it for some pretty basic stuff and it was weird transitioning from Final Cut while I was teaching, but I do like it.

Iris.Fall looks interesting. I was playing Crimes & Punishments: Sherlock Holmes last week and almost finished it. You figure out crimes by wandering around fully rendered environments and examining evidence, solving a few puzzles, and putting together a case. I was pleasantly surprised by it.

That sounds like Ace Attorney, which I still need to play my copy of. I don't even remember which one I own!

I need to try that Ace Attorney.

I've had Crimes and Punishments for ages, meaning to play it.

I need to re-read Crime & Punishment.

Funny thing was, Sherlock was reading that book in the carriage in one sequence. He's always reading something on the ride to one place or another.

It was way better than I was expecting. There's even a few surprise QTEs here and there.

I have a hard time getting a text review together these days. I can't imagine going through all the work to make a video one. Good for you!

The script is written and the footage is gotten and the audio has already been edited (it'll be a roughly 3 minute review). The absolute hardest part is deciding what footage to lay down. I want to illustrate what I'm talking about, some of which comes later in the game, without spoiling too much. I want to make sure the video is matching my VO, which might require cutting the VO up a bit more to let the video "breathe." And the #1 problem, as ever, is "Why did I not time stamp any standout moments while playing? Now I have to sift through literal hours of footage to find whatever I was talking about." At least I'm playing fairly short games for the most part.

Hopefully the life transition is a positive one.

Sucks about Adobe Cloud, and you would think there would be some open source user created version. Heck their are open source versions of Photoshop and Illustrator but if you're comfortable with the Adobe line I would probably stick with investing in that.

Mostly. I'm moving in with a friend for a while so I'm less complacent about getting a job than I am living at home. But I've still got to pack and do errands etc. before. I'm currently on S1E10 of The Wire ...

I really tried to make Photos work in lieu of Premiere and Audition has most of what I need for audio, but man. Adobe is worth it to me.
