I love that main theme to FF V. One of these days I need to finish that game. I always get really far and lose interest in it for some reason. One of my favorites from FF V is this. So sad and haunting!
Amazing VG Themes: Final Fantasy Love (Part 1)

Final Fantasy is probably the most famous RPG series in gaming. However, the best part of the series is not the gameplay (which can change dramatically from game to game), nor the characters (who can tend to be annoying, ahem, Tidus), nor the story (which can be either amazing or very strange). No, the best part of the series is definitely the music. The games may be divisive, but the music is not. Nobuo Uematsu made a name for himself with the FF series; he's a musical genius. Let's take a look at some of the most memorable themes of FF1 through 5. Be sure to let us know some of your favorite songs from these games in the comments. Tomorrow we'll look at FF6 through 10.
FF1--Chaos Temple
This arrangement is actually from the Playstation remake of FF1. I've always loved this theme. It's mysterious and beautiful at the same time. The violin is used perfectly, and the voices in the background are sort of creepy. I also really like the piano which has the melody during the first part of the song. Well, I just love the whole song! It fits the atmosphere of the Chaos Temple to a T. Uematsu wasn't messing around; he got it right the very first game.
FF2--Main Theme
This arrangement is also from the PS remake. This theme is also mysterious, which is fitting since you're characters are exploring a world filled with the unknown. The first part is more simple, then it picks up in the second part when the guitar and strings join; that is the moment when you say, "Wow, this theme is beautiful." Uematsu also got the main themes right; EVERY FF game has a good main theme.
FF3--The Boundless Ocean
Another beautiful theme that has to do with mystery and exploration. This theme plays when you enter the surface world; it's dark and ominous, with nothing but boundless ocean and fog covering it. It's very fitting, as always. It's a relaxing theme that you could listen to again and again to calm your nerves.
FF4--The Red Wings
My favorite song from this game is easily the boss theme, but I'm not doing battle themes here (maybe another time), so I chose this theme, which plays early on in the game. It's a song that builds up to a chaotic climax (which sounds similar to the Imperial Death March from Star Wars). It gives off a sense of tension and intrigue. This was the first FF game with a real story, and this song helps get that story going with powerful theme.
FF5--Ahead on our Way
This is the main them of FF5, and it is such an adventurous theme! It's pumping, catchy, and exciting. Get ready for adventure! Strangely enough, it plays during the file select; I think it would have been better to play while on the world map, but I gues it was too exciting. It's really enjoyable to listen to with its constant progression and thrilling melody.
