I wonder if the Sonic Mania DLC is worth it.

Blog a Day #22
Hello everyone how are you? 2017 was such a amazing year for the Nintendo Switch, and while 2018 wasn't as big, I played a lot of great games on it. In fact, I played way more games on the Switch last year than I did in 2017. I had to split this post into 2 parts because I played a ton of games on it and the post would be too long. Here is part 1 of the Switch games I played in 2018...
Fire Emblem Warriors: This one came out in 2017 but it came out so close to Super Mario Odyssey so I stopped playing it. It wasn't till 2018 that I got back to it. It's basically like Hyrule Warriors, except with Fire Emblem characters. It's a really fun game but wish the playable characters had more variety. If you are a fan of Fire Emblem, then definitely check it out, there's a ton of content in the game and it's something you'll be playing for a long time.
Sonic Mania: This one came out in 2017 but wasn't till last year that I finally got to try it. Basically the best Sonic game in years. Everyhing about it is incredible. If you haven't tried it out yet, definitely do it. It's a really great game.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2: This one came out in 2017, but it was around December and it being an rpg, there was no way I was ever going to finish it before the year ended. That and my Switch had some problems so that added to that too. I got to finally enjoy it last year and it was such a great game. While I still prefer the first game, this one is a great game in its own right too. I think this is the game I put the most hours into in 2018.
Kirby Star Allies: Kirby's second HD game, but everyone will say that Rainbow Curse and the Wii U never happened. It's a really fun game and really love the mechanic of turning enemies into allies. The game was also supported with free updates that added new characters and a new mode as well. It's even more fun with more players, so if you can, try it out that way.
Mario+Rabbids Kingdom Battle: It released in 2017 but didn't get to try it until last year. This was such a surprise last year, I was amazed at how good this game is. The music in this game is so good too. If you love Grant Kirkhope's music, then you'll be at home here. If you haven't had a chance to try it out, I highly recommend trying this one. I know people don't like the Rabbids too much, but I can assure you, it works well with the Mario characters.
Blazblue Cross Tag Battle: Basically a crossover fighting game with Blazblue, Persona 4, RWBY. and Under Night In-Birth characters. It's a fighting game so you know what to expect. But it's a really fun game too. I'm generally not too good at traditional 2D fighting games but the game didn't seem too difficult to grasp and had fun playing online. The interactions between the different characters is really fun too.
Fortnite: Yes, I tried out Fortnite last year. I already knew about this game but didn't get to see what all the fuss was about till they released it on the Switch. I tried it out and I can definitely see the appeal of it. You and 99 other players drop on the map and and it's basically a free-for-all while looting for weapons and scavanging for materials. 1 winner out of the other 99 players takes all. I will say that it's really fun and you get quite the rush when you are one of the few players left.
Fallout Shelter: Not quite the Fallout game I wanted on the Switch, but it is a Fallout game on the Switch. It's free to play but that's probably why I played it. It's pretty fun though. It's the same as the mobile version of the game.
Riptide GP Renegade: It's a port of the mobile version of the same game. What I love about it is that it reminds me of Wave Race in many ways and for some reason Hydro Thunder as well. It definitely scratches that itch for a new Wave Race. You can customize your driver and vehicle in the game and the career mode is prety fun. I really enjoyed this one.
So that's part 1 of the Switch games I played in 2018. Part 2 is coming soon, so thanks for reading and...
