GI JOE, the Atari game based on the Hasbro toy - isn't very good. In fact, it's terrible. But I decided I'd post about it just because it's so insane.
My older brother had this game and I would watch him play it. Basically, the goal is to run soldiers across the screen without being hit by the giant cobra's bullets. It's totally stupid, and unfun. But I sat as a kid and watched my brother play this crap for long periods of time.
I was into GI JOE as a kid. The toys were better than Kenner's StarWars figures. I also loved the GI JOE comic book, which, in retrospect, had some pretty good stories.
But this game, while not reaching E.T. levels of crap, is still truly bad.
As a kid I never got into G.I. Joe. Neither the toys nor the cartoon interested me. I really only got into two main toy lines as a kid. When I was younger, it was Star Wars. And as I got older, I was into Transformers for a bit.
I only had one G.I. Joe action figure and I don't know who it was. As a kid, my dad and I built a model tank one time and for some reason, I felt like I needed an army man to drive it, so I got a G.I. Joe action figure to cram in the top of the tank.
Well, you can tell it's a cobra. I guess that's the best you can say for it lol

It does LOOK cool, I admit.
Over land and sea, and air, GI Joe is there! I loved GI Joe as a kid. My brother and I one year collected that year's entire release of figures.
It is a shame there really hasn't been a really good GI Joe game.
Too bad the licensing doesn't allow it to be on Atari collections I have. I'd like to play this suckatude for myself.
Look it up on Youtube. I remember the way the snake moves being very weird.
