I watched the reruns after school as a kid. They were fun. I never had any of their albums... when I first buying and listening to music when I was about eleven or so, it was the Beach Boys I was into.
RIP.

Sorry, not in the mood to do a game post tonight. and apologies for the length.
If you know how much music means to me, you'll understand.
I've been trying hard to articulate how I feel about Peter Tork's death and it's difficult.
When the Monkees first appeared on the scene a lot of us laughed at them and those who bought their music.
They were a fake band we said, intended to rip off what the Beatles had going. We didn't like them because we were way too cool for that.
Looking back on that, how wrong we were.
They didn't play their own instruments and write their own songs because it was forced on them. The songs were written by Boyce and Hart, King and Goffin and the instruments were played by other musicians.
Is wasn't until Headquarters that they were finally allowed to play their own instruments.
But I digress. I write this in memory of a real musician. A man who made music that made people happy and isn't that what it's all about.
Looking back now I smile when I hear I'm a Believer, Pleasant Valley Sunday, Auntie Grizelda, Daydream Believer and many others.
I can't put into words how this has hit me so I'll leave you with a quote from Michael Nesmith.
"As I write this my tears are awash, and my heart is broken," Nesmith posted on his Facebook page Thursday. "I have said this before — and now it seems even more apt — the reason we called it a band is because it was where we all went to play."
RIP Peter Tork.
