Our story starts with the helicopter leaving from New Orleans and headed back to the original survivors. After some discussion, Francis, Zoey, and Louis agree to head west with the others.

 

Zoey says, "If this serum is true, I insist we pick up Bill and take him with us." It is agreed that Bill's death was caused by a rock thrown from a tank and Bill was never contaminated by the infected that swarmed him after his death. After landing at a small airport outside of Sacramento, California, the survivors make their way to a highrise in downtown Sacramento. This is the source of the radio transmission, or so they think. After reaching the highrise, it is discovered the radio transmission is coming from a neighboring building.

 

Francis looks at Louis and says, "Way to go Louie, glad you weren't with Lewis and Clark". The survivors reach the radio room of the now deserted(?) science building. They break open a secured steel box and find a oddly colored serum. Being a person who has experience with syringes, Francis administers the serum to the still-dead Bill.

 

As the survivors start to give up and leave you hear a gruffy voice saying, "God damn it Francis, watch where you point that thing."

 

In a rare show of emotion, Francis hugs Bill and says, "Welcome back, Old Man,"
