The Lost Child is part mystery visual novel and part first person dungeon crawler.
The story is about people committing "suicide" and in every instance a woman in purple is spotted at the scene.
The protagonist, Hayato works as an occult journalist and his investigations are the visual novel part.
The dungeon crawling is the only time you control your character and his team. The battles are turn based and you get to recruit the monsters you beat.
The story is interesting at least the bit that I've played but the lack of exploration and animation once again leaves me bored most of the time,
They name drop Lovecraftian characters such as Cthulhu and Dagon but that's where it ends.
Anyway that's what I got from the hour I played.
