So earlier this morning I was listening to this song

This song is special to me because it reminds me of when I would always go to the Target in the summer and debate on if I should buy the new iPod 5th gen. Each time I would walk into the store and make my way to the back this would always play on the TVs and I would stand there debating on if I can swing the $300 bucks. Eventually I bought the black 30GB model and it was my first iPod. After a battery replacement, and screen replacement, the dang thing stopped working. I need to replace the screen and maybe motherboard to get it up and running. I also thought about replacing the hard drive with an SD card mod.

Chris Watches…

Still watching Hell’s Kitchen during lunch, but I haven’t really watched anything new. There is a new show starring Kate Beckensale that is available on Amazon Prime so I might check that out later on tonight.

Chris Listens To…

I finally finished copying music from the external to the laptop and re-downloaded the albums from Amazon and Google and I am ready to wipe the external and copy everything back. I got rid of a lot of stuff that had low bitrates. The only ones from these low bitrates that I kept are bootlegs of live shows, radio records and other swanky mediums. When this is finished I will go through what’s on the laptop and remove what I really don’t plan on listening to. Currently I am copying over to the external and in 11 hours it will all be finished!

As for actually listening to music it is Friday so I am going to spend some time on Spotify today going through all the new stuff available and see what makes my 2019 list. I can’t touch my iTunes because it’s being copied so this will be my music for today.

Chris Reads…

It has been a full month and I didn’t pick up a book. Since it is now March I will visit the library’s eBook section to see what interests me or read one of the many free books I got from the Kindle Store thanks to Reddit.

Randoms…

-So yesterday while browsing my phone carrier’s website, I noticed that there was a plan available that had the same specs as my current phone plan, but $10 less. After a quick trip to the phone spot I got everything resolved and I now save some cash that will cover my Spotify subscription.

-We had our annual county fair and I went on the final weekend. Gone is my favorite spot that sells the giant donut with maple frosting and bacon. They’re still there but now they are promoting the giant donut with Samoa toppings. Don’t get me wrong, it sounds good, but there’s a reason why I go to them. I hit a different BBQ vendor this year and it wasn’t bad. I ate my steak sandwich while watching a bird show. The lady running the show was on Dirty Jobs and something with Andrew Zimmern about her camel farm. Makes sense, lady doing a bird show, being famous over her camel farm. I saw this sign and took a picture and sent it to my friend who lives in Orange County

Kind of a bad sign that your fair isn’t the greatest when they’re offering tickets to another fair. Anyways I skipped out on checking the usual stuff in the Art Building, the exhibit hall, the Geode Building, and my favorite the building by the front entrance that is home to the local model train enthusiast club. I did however see this bad boy on display

I had the Hot Wheel as a kid, and if you go around to the back of the truck you can touch it and not get yelled at. #Adulting

Pickups

Games

Not really a game but I bought this contraption from Amazon for $15

03

I give my impressions on Monday but so far I dig it. I also love the English on the box. I want to make fun of it but if I had to translate info to a language that I am not comfortable with, it would sound exactly like this information. “Humanization design and comfortable to hold.”

Music

This is where most (all) of the action is. Let’s start with a trip to Goodwill. Goodwill had a ton of Country music CDs. If I was really into that genre I would have made out like a bandit. I spent a little too much here ($17) but this is what I bought

04

Trick Daddy - www(dot)trickdaddy(dot)com (Since I’m typing this up I don’t want a link in my document)

Nappy Roots - Watermelon Chicken And Gritz

Ugly Kid Joe - America’s Least Wanted

Natalie Merchant - Tigerlilly

Taylor Dayne - Can’t Fight Fate

Motley Crue - Red, White, and Crue

Fat Joe - Jealous Ones Still Envy

Fabolous - From Nothin’ To Somethin’

I’m disappointed that Fabolous, Fat Joe, and Nappy Roots are clean versions. That’s a waste of $6.

A couple of days ago I made a trip to the library, and they added new CDs. I came away with these albums for .25 cents each

05

Various Artists - Glory Days of Rock N’ Roll: Doo-Wop

Ken Burns: The Civil War Soundtrack

Original Broadway Cast - Damn Yankees

Zapp - V or Vibe depending on where you look

Doo-Wop is a two disc set, Ken Burns album looks like it could be a mix of spoken word and some period music, and I just like Zapp.

From the Trift Store down the street from the library I bought these albums for $11 or $12

06

Lenny Kravitz - Greatest Hits

Aaliyah - One In A Million

R.Kelly - The R. In R&B Collection: Volume 1

I finally get around to getting a copy of Lenny Kravitz and it has the song “Again” that I haven’t heard in a long time.

From that thrift store I also bought a couple of audiobooks

07

Ronald Reagan - The Reagan Diaries (abridged)

Bill O’Reilly - Killing Lincoln

I read Killing Reagan, which was an interesting book about his history and I hope the Lincoln book will be similar.

Alright Pixlpeeps I am off. It is time for lunch, which means back to watching Season 15 of Hell’s Kitchen. Have a good weekend!

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

I bought that Yeah Yeah Yeah's record on vinyl last year. It really has some great songs. Sometimes I just want to listen to some straight up rock music, and they do it very well.

I totally failed on the book reading front this month. I'm a little sad about it.

I really like Yeah Yeah Yeah's but haven't gotten around to listening to a whole album. I gotta fix that.

I made a half-track truck model as a kid.
