I remember playing Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver on my Dreamcast. It looked great for the time. To this day, I stand by the belief that the Dreamcast had more vibrant colors and better graphics than the PS2.

This was the second game in the series, and there were three more after this. I never played the first. In the game you play some sort of vampire hero, and you get your energy back from sucking it off enemies. In addition, you can switch between the normal world and a sort of shadow world to solve puzzles and accomplish other things.

I thought the Dreamcast had a bright future at that time. I remember playing it in the house I lived in in San Francisco and being blown away by games like Tony Hawk and Code: Veronica.

Guess you never know!

Dreamcast games certainly were more colorful.  I think that had to do with SEGA's style at the time, though.

I reviewed the first Legacy of Kain game back in my Dallas Morning News days.  I liked the 2-D top down nature of the game, but I wasn't a big fan of having to suck blood.  I don't like vampires either.

I never played that one. I don't think I've even ever seen it.

Yeah, I'm not crazy about vampires either.

I tried one of them once, I forge which one.

One of these was written by Uncharted writer Amy Henning. It's supposed to be great. I wish it was remastered like that screen shot suggests.

Yeah that screenshot looks pretty good, but I did search specifically for Dreamcast pics. I had a good time with that game.

I still have one or two of them, but I think they are for Xbox or PS2. They should put them all in a remastered collection like the Spryo remaster.

I played the demo for the Soul Reaver game on the original PS and loved it. Then I got a Dreamcast and bought the game for that. Night and day. It looked so much better. Then the PS2 came out and killed it. The Dreamcast I mean.

Sega didn't stand a chance even though the DC was a better console if a little noisy.

I still have a Dreamcast but I had to sell all the good games for it. Makes me sad.

I love the PS2 but damn the Dreamcast was such a solid console. I do agree that some games looked better on the DC and this was one of them.
