For NES, that's a pretty good looking screen shit, but I'll take your word the game sucks.
The Dark Side of the NES - NES Star Wars

Born when I was, it was inevitable that I would become a huge star wars fan. But maybe the word "fan" is too small - for boys of the 1980s it was almost a religion. It was our mythology. The more modern films and the crappy cartoons, novels, and comic book tie-ins may have diminished this fandom, but at its height, it was truly something.
So of course, I played the NES Star Wars game. It was not good. Actually, I remember the graphics being much worse. But what I do remember accurately, is its crappiness - as a platformer, as an action game, as anything.
It wouldn't be my first run-in with bad adaptations.
The Super Star Wars games for the SNES were almost cool - but they were terribly difficult.
Of course, we eventually got great Star Wars games like the Jedi Knight series, KOTOR, and other games....
But it took a while.
Actually, as a PS, I DO love the original, arcade vector-based Star Wars game. I've played it tons of times, and have never grown sick of it.
