So a week ago the HOA signed a new deal with the local cable company where now everyone in the neighborhood gets the Ultimate Uber Package or whatever it is called, and yesterday the house got upgraded. We already had a bunch of channels that I rarely watch with the exception of a handful but now we get everything but Starz for some reason. Last night I watched professional Darts, and earlier this morning I watched fencing, and while I am currently enjoying this terrible cheese pizza I am watching Better Luck Tomorrow, a movie that I own on DVD, yet I am watching on TV. I like to think that is a swanky Quick Hits entrance.

Since you already know what I have been watching let’s move on

Chris Reads…

I started reading The Guilded Age From Beginning To End and its a short read but I haven’t really got into the guts of the book but so far it isn’t bad. I am going to add another book but more on that later.

I’ve started looking at getting a Kindle again. The more I look at it one it makes sense to have. I might get one if they go on sale.

Chris Listens To…

I think I am about 50% finished with my ripping project. I am going to be happy when this is all over because I’ll have all my CDs converted to FLAC and then I will use that copy to make an AAC format version for my iTunes and iPod and phone. Once this is all finished I am going to get a 512GB micro SD card, load up the entire library and have it live on one of the music players. I know super nerdy.

Pickups:

Gaming

Yesterday, or maybe a day before I read on Reddit that a year of Nintendo Online was free for folks who had Prime and connected their Twitch Account. I signed up and I guess whenever my subscription runs out this one kicks in.

Music:

I bought a lot of stuff but the one time I forgot to take a picture. Anyways Between the library, and two thrift stores I bought 20 CDs for a quarter each. One album I did have to spend a whooping $2.50 on.

Yesterday while waiting for Costco to open I stopped at the thrift store across the street and I found some audiobooks

01

There’s no politics in the books just a historical account of the events leading up to the death of the individual. I read the Reagan book and that’s what hooked me on the series. I paid $3 for each book, which is a steal considering they’re $30 at Barnes & Noble. I need to be on the lookout for the other three to complete the series.

Alright Pixlpeeps I am off. I need to rip some new audiobooks to iTunes and then get lost in the sea of new random channels I have while eventually going back to the old favorites. Have a good weekend!

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

I read Killing Lincoln after buying for my dad as a Father's Day gift one year and liked it. Definitely paid more than $3 for it. lol

Where was the cheese pizza from?

Turns out I own a copy of Killing Lincoln so I need to find the other two books. This will probably be the next one I read. I need to take a little break because Killing Kennedy was a bit rough at the end but I'll talk about that on Friday.

My terrible cheese pizzas were from Walmart's freezer section. I think they were a step down from the Mama Celeste pizzas.

That's cool about Nintendo Online. Wish I was doing that right now.

Yeah it's a good deal. I really should play more of the games offered with the subscription.

I'm planning a novel in gilded age Philadelphia. Ive always been fascinated by those times.

That should be an interesting story especially because of all that went on during that time, good and bad.
