Don't worry, my Facebook feed already spoiled GoT thirty minutes after the episode was done. Figured I was fine when most were about the screen being dark, but then a major event that was being led up to for seven seasons started being all of my timeline.
Quick Hits: Quick Game Talk & CDs

So yesterday I was sitting in the hospital lobby (no worries my family member was getting a checkup in the doctor’s office that is next door, and I don’t like sitting in that waiting room) and I swear I spent two hours playing that Gem War game on the Switch. Yes I spent $225 on a console so I could play a freebie game. I swear. The time did go by fast and I hit the orb lottery by getting 5,000 as a reward so I maxed out my four characters and I will most likely do the same with the other characters I have so I can actually start mixing and matching lineups.
I also joined a Guild. I really have no idea what’s going on, but I get a ton of low level keys everyday to unlock chests to get goodies. I also contribute 5,000 in gold a day to help whatever cause they need it for. This is what happens when you don’t pay attention to the tutorial. And with that, this is basically what I played for the past week. Think what happened yesterday but more of the same throughout the week.
With that let’s get started with Quick Hits
Chris Watches…
-Yeah I saw Game of Thrones, but don’t worry I won’t spoil it (psst a DeLorean shows up and it’s Marty of House McFly of Hill Valley, the first of his name, the cousin of dragons.) I liked it but I have some questions about some moments. I might talk about those later
-My new YouTube binge is watching random people take overnight train rides. I’d like to try taking a trip on a train at some point. Heck I even watched one where a guy jumps on a train that was shipping items.
-Another YouTube video I like to watch is the Record Store Day pickups. There wasn’t anything that I really wanted from the released list but I’m glad to see people buying the stuff they wanted. I also agreed with some videos that criticized that the albums are getting expensive, and it’s huge for re-sellers. Hell just browse eBay to see the inflated prices, and I don’t even want to see what’s going down on Discogs.
Chris Listens To…
-I celebrated my own version of Record Store Day by hitting the local mom & pop right as an employee was stocking new stuff. More on this later.
-I’m still ripping CDs and I believe I am a week behind where I should be. Heck I should be finished by this point, getting ready to convert a copy of the FLAC files to AAC for my phone and iPods, and looking at buying a 512gb Micro SD card to put all that music on my converted Android Phone (if you don’t remember it syncs to iTunes so I get all those play counts, playlists, and other goodies)
-Speaking of ripping CDs, I’m using Musicbee and it’s doing a good job but I wish it would read the data on the discs for the track titles and names. Some CDs I have to track down on Discogs or just copy/paste from iTunes.
Chris Reads…
-I think after the 512gb Micro SD card, I am going to look at getting a Kindle. As much as I love audio books, I’d like to sit with a tablet and actually read. I don’t think I need anything fancy, but I don’t want to rely on the iPad for everything.

Ok so I had my own Record Store Day with shelves stocked with new-ish stuff (I haven’t been to the store in a month) and I bought two stacks of the $1.99 Buy 5 get 2 free wall
I completed my OC soundtracks by finding Mix 4, and I am excited about this. Glee because I kinda want to have the physical discography and now I think I need maybe 4 or 5 more albums. Everything else was because of one or two tracks per album, with the exception of Cassie which replaces a digital version I had.
From their freebie bin I grabbed
Nothing crazy, but stuff to check out. The Mark & Brian double disc is I believe some of their comedy from their old LA Morning Radio Show, and the second disc is music from the time.
The store also bought some really cool box sets but that would have busted my self-impossed $20 budget, and besides I got a lot of music for $20. Oh I forgot to add I found three of the CDs that are on my Amazon Wishlist, which is always a bonus.
From Amazon I bought two CDs off of my wishlist. I actually only wanted one of them but after constantly seeing the music video for Shot Clock and the little Amazon recommendation of “hey we see you’re buying X, you can also get Y and Z for this price.” I skipped on Z and just with with X and Y for about what I spent at the mom & pop shop.
I love Ella Mai’s Time EP. It’s 6 tracks but I love them all. Her full album I was on the fence about but thanks to Fuse or Revolt, whichever channel I fall asleep to, it always plays Shot Clock. Thanks to Amazon’s new 1 Day Shipping for Prime, I got the full album in a day, while the Time EP took the usual two days.
And finally when I went to Walmart earlier this morning for a battery I stopped by the CD section and I found these two albums
Yeah I don’t know why I needed Baby Shark in FLAC but I guess I do because I now own the album. Cranberries was sad because this is their last album.
Alright Pixlpeeps I am off. I would like to finish more album ripping today and then spend some quality time grinding in Gem War game on the Switch. Have a good weekend!
That’s all for now,more later!
-Chris
