Pretty sure the video game cover for this (want to say we rented the SNES version, but I'm not sure) was my introduction to Taz as a character.

Yes, there was a 16-bit Tazmanian Devil game, and believe it or not, it's actually pretty good. I don't remember if I asked for it, or if my parents just bought it for me, but I remember playing it quite a bit. Its the typical sidescrolling affair, but with only light platforming compared to a Mario game. Taz can do his trademark spin move to take out enemies, and I think he could also breathe fire sometimes.
Taz-Mania came out late in the Sega Genesis's life, so the graphics are pretty damn good. They were really pushing the system to the limits and the sort of cartoon-like design really looks nice.
I forget the plot other than it involves some sort of giant bird and a giant egg. But the game IS fun, especially foir a licensed game in that era. I'm a big fan of Looney Toons, always have been, so I remember this game fondly.
