that Valhalla game seems pretty interesting. I'll read your reviews soon.

Got another batch of games I’ve recently reviewed over at GamerDad.com. Please click on and read as many as you can and maybe even post a ‘like’ or comment or two. I’d appreciate it. OK let’s begin.
There are two really awesome things about this puzzle game. One, it plays nearly EXACTLY like Puzzle Fighter, one of my all-time favorite puzzle games. Capcom should take note. THIS is how you do a Puzzle Fighter game, not that crappy mobile game they ruined. I don’t think you can even download it anymore. The other awesome thing about this game is that one of the characters you can play as is FREAKING ASTRO BOY! Astro Boy is one of my favorite anime characters. He was created by Osamu Tezuka in the 1950’s, who is considered to be the father of Japanese manga comics. There was a black and white cartoon back then, but in the early 2000’s, they did a remake of the cartoon and it was very good. Also, there was an Astro Boy game on the GBA which was awesome and one of the few Treasure games I really like. Another cool thing about Crystal Crisis is that I think the narrator is Peter Cullen doing his Optimus Prime voice. Either that or they good a good imitator. Anyway, if you want a really good puzzle game on the Switch, here you go.
I hate using the term “Metroidvania” as I don’t think my audience would know what it means. But I had to use it for this review so I could use the pun “Meowtroidvania.” But at least I explained what Metroidvania meant. Anyway, in this game, a spaceman crashes on a planet because his cat jumped on the keyboard. The spaceman is trapped in the wreckage, so the cat must explore the planet and don robot suits to defend herself and explore the areas. The graphics are all in black and white, too, like an old computer game. It’s a fun game, but rather short as I beat it in only four hours.
This is an interesting one. You are a bartender in a dystopian future, and you must mix drinks for customers. Depending on how well you make drinks and how much alcohol you put in them, you can even change the story outcomes! It didn’t keep my interest because there is a LOT of text, but I still think it is an interesting idea. I did like the late 80’s/early 90’s PC style graphics, though. Reminded me of Wing Commander.
Just a generic bullet hell shooter. Normally I don’t like these very much, but there are lots of selectable difficulty levels, even really easy ones for me, so I still enjoyed it. It plays like something you’d see in an arcade and fits well on the Switch. Only problem is that it’s single player only. And lacks the charm of Taito shooters like Darius or Metal Black.
It’s a fast and futuristic racing game, but way too hard. Nintendo just needs to make another F-Zero game already!
In this surreal first person game, you must use an imaginary grapple to swing to a goal without touching the ground. It’s way too hard, though. But if you like Bionic Commando and want to swing around Salvador Dali styled areas, then here you go.
A couple of months ago I reviewed the original pliq, a mobile puzzle game that was actually kind of fun. And already they have a sequel. Only in the mobile gaming world, I guess. Aside from putting faces on the blocks, not much has changed. They bombard you with more ads, though, so I still prefer the original.
And last is this game that was originally a mobile title, and it shows. You help a seafaring cat in a simplistic fishing game where you guide a swinging anchor down an underwater cave to catch fish, but you mustn’t touch any walls or obstacles. They only use about a third of the screen, so everything is very small, especially in handheld mode, so it isn’t very good. The worst part is the music, though. So grating and annoying!
And that’s all for now! Thanks for reading and posting ‘likes’ and comments on my reviews! I really appreciate it. Some of my blog plans for the rest of the summer include a Nintendo Labo VR Kit Wrap Up, my Game of the Year SO FAR Awards, and a tribute to the 3DS. Until next time, later! --Cary
PS: My first Mario Maker 2 level if anyone’s interested: 19T-PV8-V7G
