Created via Wii U, about Wii U, for... um... you.

So I'm sitting here in bed, reading the Pixlbit front page via Wii U's browser, when i notice the 'These people like Pixlbit' Facebook widget. Normally I wouldn't think twice, but I noticed Ben's (BrokenH) av pic and it reminded me of earlier days at 1UP, as it is the same he used then.

For S&G's, I click the pic of Ben in the widget, and find myself at his Facebook page. Big deal, right? Wow, Facebook.

The surprise, though, is that after trying different ways over the months to bypass Facebook's mobile version on the Wii U browser, i finally did on accident. It isn't PC perfect, and some features will retrieve the mobile version if clicked, but a lot of the javascript is there, albiet wonky.

Thanks, Ben, for inadvertently guiding me to this discovery. If anyone has any other Wii U web-navigating tips, please share!

ps, blogging on wii u is not recommended.

It's good to know that intrepid individuals like yourself keep giving internet browsers on Nintendo consoles/handhelds a chance when you know they'll break your heart.

Youtube via the internet browser is better than the app. You can either view videos on the Gamepad or on the tv, the only minor setback is the ads. Sometimes they pop out during a video, which is annoying but it gets the job done.

You sound like someone with better skills at that than I have.  I'm thinking about getting a Wii U so this is interesting. I love messing around with new devices to see what can be done.

I was thinking about it: I think Nintendo will downplay facebook on their devices in an effort to promote MiiVerse, which is very similar.  I have a feeling a Facebook app won't appear on Wii U, or crossover posts like with PS3 trophies.
