Returning to Rapture

I just finished Bioshock this morning...  I seem to play most of my games in the morning, interesting.  This was the third, or fourth time that I have played through it.  I did enjoy it, but not as much as I did the first play through of the game.

Since I know how the story already plays out, the sense of awe and wonder of entering Rapture is diminished.  With less of a reason to follow the story I payed more attention to everything else.  The flaws in gameplay and combat became even more pronounced.  Looking back, I can see exactly why the game was so critically acclaimed, but I cannot agree with it.  The game is good, but I cannot consider it great anymore.

I did start Bioshock 2 for the second time, or was it the third.  I was awestruck the first time that I played Bioshock 2.  When I booted it up again, I had the same exact feeling.  The sense of wonderment, I am excited to play through it again.

never played any of these.  But I want to play Infinite.

irrational fixed almost every problem that I had with the original game with infinite.  I am very pleased with what sk marin did with 2, and hope that the bureau is equally awesome.

My little sister has played and beat all 3 Bioshock games. She loved 1 and 2 but the ending to 3 made her a lil bit mad but she overall still enjoyed the game. I wanna play through them myself but I wanna buy the Rapture Edition since it has 1 and 2 together. Its only 30$ but Im still waiting a bit to see if it goes on sale or gets a price drop.

I had gotten both games on the ps3 when they came out, but had to repurchase them for my 360.  The Ultimate Rapture Edition is a steal.  It comes with all of the dlc, which cost at least 30 bucks anyways.

I just picked up Bioshock today, I have had 2 for a while and put about an hour into it, felt I needed to play the first before I go back. Strangly other than the combo pack Nicoleb mentioned I was having trouble find it. Guesse I got lucky.

2 plays better than 1, but 1 has a rather good story.  I am currently marvelling at all of the little things that 2k marin did to perfect the formula from the first.

I've played the first one and Infinite but not 2 yet. I have it though. There are just too many good games to be had for cheap lol

I am finding myself enjoying 2 more than I thought possible.

That's interesting because most people seem to say it's good but gives off a definite "been there, done that" kind of feeling. That's the main reason I haven't gotten around to playing it yet. Everybody seems like the Minerva's Den DLC, though.

I should be having the "been there, done that" feeling about the game, since I booted up bioshock 2 almost immediately after I finished the first game.  I am not, and I am uncertain as to why that is.

Maybe since you're playing them so close together it feels like a continuation instead of a rehash...? Either way, glad you're enjoying it so much. That's what playing games is all about Smile

I did exactly the same thing. Started on the first Bioshock again. Just to see it all over again with new insights. Such a classic gaming experience it has to be repeated.

As i think about it more, I beleive that the games have to be experienced together.  I will play bioshock again in the future, but I will definitely play bioshock 2 right after it.

I may complain about the original bioshock, but bioshock 2 shows the brilliance of irrational games.  Without the amazing foundation that irrational built, bioshock 2 could have been a POS.
