Developer: NCS Corp

Publisher: Konami

Genre: Run n' Gun, Action

Release: 1993

Currently Available on: Wii U VC

About the game: This is a run n' gun, but a much slower one since you're in a giant mech suit. As you move, you can aim your gun in any direction to fire, and there's plenty of things to blow up (which is very satisfying). Some levels you'll be on the ground while others will have you flying in space acting more like a shoot 'em up. This is a very hard game, but it's also polished in every area, making it a real standout.

Why I love it: When I initially got this game, I was really impressed by it, but didn't get very far. Then later, I gave it another try and made it much further into the game. This is such an excellent game! It really shines in every department, and although it's hard, you can make progress with a little persistence. This is an underrated gem that deserves more attention.

I found the cartridge for this game at a yard sale. I still have it somewhere.

I have never heard of this one. Looks a little like E-Swat for the Genesis.

Well, if that's a giant mech run n' gun, then yes

Is the shop for WIi-U still active? I think I looked when I set my Wii-U up a few months ago, but I forget.

This game would be cool with a cheat code. Does it have one?

Yes, the Wii U eshop is still going! I think there are some Game Genie cheat codes, but you'll have to look them up.

Oh great. Next time I have the Wii-U setup, I'm going to look through the store deeply.

Another example of Konami 16 bit gold. Was graphically impressive at the time.

Absolutely. The details are stunning. But I think all of Konami's games on SNES were beautiful. They were just at the top of their game.

I've heard of this one but never played it. But I'm always down for blowing things up as a giant mech.

This is the first game on your list so far that I've never played.
