I always liked Mega Man as a kid but didn't really get into the series till I was an adult and I found that it kind of stood in for the things I missed in gaming. I really wanted the MM/MMX and MM Zero books but ended up getting the other two because I got them for a ridiculous steal (note: no actual theft involved).

Mega Man Art Books

Mega Man 25 Anniversary (MM and MMX), MM Zero, MM Battle Network, and MM Star Force. I found those bottom two at a comic shop that was having a sale on all their art books. Then I got an additional discount for joining their email newsletter. In the end I paid $13 each, I think, instead of the $60+ they were reselling for online (they're out of print).

Together they make a great set!

Those look cool. I should try and get my library to get them.

If I could get those at the price you paid for them, I'd totally own them.

Oh wow, that IS a steal! I would love to get these. I got the Zelda: Breath of the Wild art book (by Dark Horse) for Christmas. I'm hoping soon to pick up the Final Fantasy Ultimania books (which cover all the main series games).

These are definitely cool. They only thing I have like this is an "Art of the Atari" book that I ordered a while back that is beautiful.

Wait, what are the things you miss in gaming?

At the time it was largely 2D action games I missed, I guess. These days we are drowning in excellent 2D indies (I just spent two weeks totally absorbed by Dead Cells, for instance) but 10-12 years ago it was much harder to get that fix.

Yeah, I can see that.

I miss having "levels" in games as opposed to open-world structures. Actually, I think that's a big reason I prefer Yakuza to so many other open world games. Not the same as having missions or levels, which I find ideal, but having chapters certainly helps.

I know what you mean. Last year I played the Metro 2033 remaster and it was refreshing having discreet levels that were not connected by an open world. The newest Metro game, naturally, has an open world...

Yeah, I remember when everyone got super hyped for NFS Underground and I immediately lost interest in the series. I did think NFS 2015 was fun, but that's cause missions were decent.
