I played this on emulation back in the late nineties. The graphics and animation are amazing. This is a game that definitely made me wish I had a SNES back in the day.
SNES Games I Love #9: Aladdin

Developer: Capcom
Publisher: Capcom
Genre: Platformer
Release: 1993
Currently available on: GBA
About the game: This game often gets overlooked by the much adored Genesis game of the same name, but this version is actually better in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, the Genesis game looks gorgeous, but this game has much better gameplay. Aladdin can jump, bounce off enemies, throw apples, and even glide through the air using a sheet. Level design here is excellent, with Aladdin fighting his way through Agrabah, the cave of wonders, Genie's world, a sand temple, and Jafar's palace. Two levels will have you flying on a magic carpet. Most notably, this game was designed by Shinji Mikami, the man behind the Resident Evil series.
Why I love it: This is one of the first SNES games we bought, so I have a lot of great memories. It's an easy game; in fact, I think this is one of the first games I ever beat. The hardest part of the game is the level where you have to escape the cave of wonders on the magic carpet, but with enough practice, you can beat it. This is just all around an excellent platformer, and Capcom made the best Disney games during this era. It's a shame this was overlooked in the recent Lion King/Aladdin ports to modern consoles.
