I did not realize the expense of action figures .. wow.

You know today I was going to be nice. It’s Friday, the weekend is here, I was going to just mess with my audio files, maybe sort through some cards or something and then I get back to back scam calls. I didn’t answer the first but when the second hit a minute later it was game time. Of course it’s one where it’s voice activated and I never say the first word so a lot of silence. Now I’m in game mode and I’m about to be called some funny words while asking them where it all went wrong. Good morning Pixlpeeps! Today for Quick Hits I’ll just go over mainly some pickups this week.
Week Recap
- I went to the local fair. Checked out the Junior Exhibits to see what kind of art the area kids are doing and there are some really talented kids. A guy won an award for his GI Joe collection (the dolls not the figures) and of course I spent way too much money on Fair food. This was also the first time I went with the paperless ticket (I bought it while standing in line to walk through the metal detectors).
- I watched Season 1 of Fast and Furious: Animated Furious Whatever It’s Called, and as over the top the story and action is, it fits right into the F&F universe. Season 1 was basically a movie cut down into I think 10 episodes? It’s a fun watch.
- I started reading an Art History textbook for fun that I found on Project Gutenberg. It’s nice to have a refresher on Art History (I’m also doing it so I can get back to running through categories on Jeopardy).

Pickups
Games:
I bought the base game for $3, and the Year One DLC for $12. For $15 I kinda have a Deluxe Edition. This was on the Ubisoft’s version of Steam.
Music:
From a random trip to a different Walmart that surprisingly got updated and is kind of setup like the one down the street I found this Mary Poppins 2-CD Soundtrack for $5. I’m slowly putting together a Disney Soundtrack collection.
Toys:
I saw this at Target
It’s made by Funko and the figures are built like He-Man (Masters Of The Universe) figures. Target had one complete set on the pegs including the regular and chase versions of Chun-Li. I thought it was a cool set but $60 for 5 figures that would sit in a plastic bin was too rich for my blood. If it’s like the Primal Age stuff it’ll be on Amazon for cheap. (It’s $50 for the 4 mainline figures right now)
I did buy this figure at that Walmart where I got the CD
Alexa Bliss in regular clothes. I think this was supposed to cover her while she was injured.
Trading Cards:
I stumbled upon some YouTube videos were people open boxes of cards. I kinda wanted to get in on it but I wanted to try wrestling cards because I’ve never collected those before. Off to Walmart I go!
So I guess card collecting has changed a lot since I did it (late 80s-early 00s) and now they have smaller boxes with 7 or 8 packs and one of the packs is a guaranteed special card (autographed, piece of clothing, etc.). I got these boxes at 50% off because they were trying to get rid of them so for the price of just one box ($20) I got 2 boxes.
See the fancy pack is on top of the regular cards.
From the two boxes I got these two Relic cards: Roddrick Strong NXT mat, and a gold version of the Elias WWE mat.
The cards are have nice photography, some studio shots of the wrestlers and some shots from live events. I pulled some other insert cards as well but nothing too crazy like an autograph.
Alright Pixlpeeps I am off. Breakfast is calling and I am hungry. Have a good one!
That’s all for now, more later!
-Chris
