Dragon Age Origins is one of my favorite WRPG's. It's funny, because when I first watched my brother playing it when it came out, I thought: "What an ugly fucking game."

Fast forward about five years later, and I try it on my computer. I love it. Somehow, Bioware took the cliched Tolkien esque world of elves and magic and made it feel real and unique. Origins is a very bleak game, and I'm not usually into that sort of thing, but the characters are so well realized and the world feels so lived in, that I couldn't help but get sucked in. 

But alas, I never finished it. When offered the choice of where to start my branching quest, I chose the dwarf city, and got stuck on the big boss at the end... I tried everying to beat it, lowering the difficulty, different strategies, but I couldn't do it. And I gave up. 

I'd like to try it again from scratch someday. What's neat about the game, is depending on what kind of character you start with, you get a different origin and beginning of the game, offering replay value that the other Dragon Age games don't. 

I have great respect for this series, and have played them all, but won none of them.
