BaD Day 17: No Theme Theme: Flashback To Disneyland

Ok so many many moons ago I was in the Disney College Program and my first year I worked on Main Street and this was the big parade for that season. I listened to it so much that I could recite the dialogue, hum all the music and I would point at the window right before the big fireworks display and say “daylight” (I worked at night up until closing). Funny thing is that I didn’t get to see the actual parade until the program ended and I came back as a guest. Here’s the parade. Have a good one!

Funny how you really don't know what something you're in looks like until you're on the other side.

I actually got to the phone interview with the Disney College program and decided it was not for me. As one of my friends commented, I'm not really a "Disney guy" (I like their movies a lot, but I dress more like I'm heading up Slipknot or Black Dahlia Murder or some other metal band when in casual clothes) and I didn't think it was the right fit for me.

I was a dumb Freshman, so I'm surprised the lady who saw me in person with a Mickey Mouse sticker on my forehead as a joke even let me do the preliminary screening.

I'm glad you got the experience though. I know people who really dug doing that program and one of my coworkers in college was Tigger at one time.

It was a lot of fun and a lot of work. I went in with some friends who were huge Disney fans. Like you I liked the movies, went to the parks as a kid but I wasn't a huge fan. I liked learning about the "Disney way" and I got to meet a lot of people, some famous, but a lot of everyday folks. I used to always instead of working I was "Making The Magic Happen" corny but fun.

I have a game related story where in one of the breakrooms behind Main Street there was a free Mortal Kombat machine and that's where I would spend my break. One day guy walked in dressed as Goofy with no head played and I got beat by Goofy.

Haha that's awesome. I wonder who Goofy would mainly play as. Maybe Scorpion?

Funny, even though I've never been to Disneyland, I knew those locations in the video right away because I played a ton of Disneyland Adventures and they recreated the park pretty accurately.

Oh cool, I'll have to try that game. It's been awhile since I've stepped foot in the park but I know most of it hasn't changed...except they dropped what I call Star Wars-land in the back.

It's a fun game and very accurate to the park from what I've been told. You don't have to play it with Kinect anymore too. They redid it without the Kinect controls.
