Hello my Metal heads. Today is all about SLAYER. Jeff Hanneman pasted away last Thursday, he was one of the founding memebers and wrote most of the song for SLAYER. So here we go.

There you are. One of my favorite bands of all time. Now GO FORTH AND METAL! \m/

P.S.

I am thinking of changing up METAL MONDAYS to more of a one album reveiw. Does this sound like something you woud read? Or should I just stick to the multiband post?

It's a shame, they're getting picked off so often, thinking who's next is kinda scary

I know. There have been more deaths of Metal stars than there has been in the past. Some of them young.

It's a sad day for metal when such an influential member passes on. RIP Jeff! Cry

I know. It seems like we are losing more of them now, then in the past.

It's terrible what happened to Jeff. I always loved him as a guitarist and the stuff he wrote.

Lately I've been listening to this symphonic black metal band from Russia called Grimorium Verum. I didn't like them much at first because I didn't know what to make of them, they don't have a drummer, their live performances are weird and the singer is a giant bald man that looks like he's fixing to molest the crowd, and their sound is basically just a really solid and great impression of Cradle of Filth and Dimmu Borgir combined. But the more I listened to it the better it was and I really like the album Reborn that they've done. I was listening to these songs all throughout the weekend with headphones on as I played Skyrim. You should give them a listen, I don't know how many people even know about this band in Russia even, let alone the Americas.

I had a feeling you would pay tribute to Jeff Hanneman today. To metalheads worldwide this is a great loss. I was lucky enough to see him perform a few times in my life. But he was not there last year when we saw Slayer. Knew he was having a tough time of it then. In the world of metal this is like losing a Jimmy Page or an Eric Clapton. The man was just that good. I listened to each of the songs you put up here. As I listened to them over the weekend. Just to remember the guy and what he did for metal. He will be greatly missed and always remembered. I like your idea about doing album reviews. Sounds kind of cool to learn more about songs from albums I am not familiar with.

I had to. Slayer is one of my favorite bands of all time. He never really recovered from that spider bite he got 2 years ago.

Awesome, might try a few of these out today on guitar in his honor ... not looking forward to seeing how bad my chops have gotten, and his stuff is difficult to stay in time with accurately, but oh well. lol

I'd be down for a single album review version of Metal Mondays.

Yes, that bacterial infection he got after the spider bite 2 years ago did a number on him. Such a terrible way to go. He and many others are what I consider the founders of todays Black,Death and Grind core.
