Some of the computers in high school had this installed on it, so that's where I've seen it.
I've never played Worms either, but it does look like a cross between Scorched Earth and Lemmings. I LOVED Lemmings back in the day.

Scorched Earth was a PC shareware game released in 1991. It was of the "turn-based artillery" genre, where you fired various weapons at your opponents' tanks by calculating the angle and power of your attack. Weapons included cluster bombs, napalm, and the all important nuke.
In the early years of high school, I used to go to my friend's house and me and a couple of guys would gather around his computer and try to nuke each other. It's a simple game, but had many variables and was a lot of fun.
It was a simpler time, with simpler games, but we had a good time. These were the days of Wolfenstein and the SNES, the internet just in its infancy with bulletin board systems available on dial up modems.
I think the Worms series of games follows the same concept but I've never played those.
It was fun.
