Earlier this morning before I had to officially get up I went back to the other room where my baseball cards are all spread out and I continued to do my sorting. A little flashback: Before Virusfest officially made us stay home I decided that I wanted to sort out all my cards and put them in order. I also wanted to catalog each card but after doing football I scrapped that because it takes so long and my baseball card collection is twice the size. Ok so at this moment all my baseball cards are in team order on a bed, and I am putting them into 800 count boxes based on alphabetical order of the team name, not the city. I did the Angels and part of the Astros yesterday, and earlier this morning I finished the Astros, and labeled the box.

It’s funny how just looking at the pictures on these little rectangles of cardboard you instantly remember the fun of trading cards with friends, finding your favorite player or trying to fill out a checklist. This was my childhood. I watch card videos now and it seems everyone just wants the autographs or whoever is the new hot player to collection. It seems like the simple fun is gone but it’s probably just a different type of fun for kids today. Anyways I am rambling and I am waiting for my butter to soften so I can make fresh homemade frozen waffles. Have a good one and WASH YOUR HANDS!

That’s all for now, more tomorrow!

When I was in little league, I had a baseball card collection. I played this baseball board game with circular discs too. I looked it up just now and it's called All Star Baseball.

I never got into baseball card collecting, but I had friends who did.  When I was a kid, Garbage Pail Kid cards were super popular and everyone collected those.  Except me.  I never understood the draw of them.  Seems kind of gross and I didn't want to spend my meager allowance on stuff like that.

I guess the only cards I collect now are Animal Crossing cards, both eReader and amiibo ones.  Also other NIntendo related cards but I don't go out of my way to get them.  My brother Jeff loves collecting cards and has a whole binder full of Pokemon cards.

My brother will kill me for saying this, but he never comes to this site so he'll never know.  But for a while he collected My Little Pony cards.  He got into that 'brony' craze for a while, but I do have to admit the cartoon was pretty good.  Heck, they even made a Metal Gear Solid reference in one of the episodes.  ANYWAY, I took a couple of his Spike the Dragon cards with me to a convention because I met the lady who does the voice of Spike and other cartoon characters (like Young Trunks from Dragon Ball Z).  I had her sign those cards so my brother Jeff was really happy about that because before then, he entered a contest to win some signed cards but lost.  But I was able to get him one anyway!

I only ever collected Pokemon and Yu-Gi Oh cards ... and I should probably make sure I know where those are, just in case.

I never collected cards. But like Cary, Garbage Pail Kids were all the rage when I was in school.
