This is a fun game. I played it on NES a while back but I don't own it anymore. I also don't own the Data East collection for Wii anymore, and I'm still kicking myself for trading it in. It's like $50 now and I'll probably never get it back.

Bump N Jump was a overhead racing game produced by Data East and released in the arcades in 1982. It was then released on every console and computer under the sun. But I played it on the Commodore 64 at my friend's house mostly.
It worked sort of like Spy Hunter, but you had the ability to jump your car to avoid obstacles and gaps in the road. The car would rise off the road, and it would enlarge as though it was coming closer to the camera, giving the illusion of 3D in an otherwise 2D game.
It was pretty fun. But like Spy Hunter, it took a lot of skill to get very far. I played it a lot at my friend's house... it was really interesting to me at the time, and I was always trying to get farther to new sections of the game. It got pretty tough though.
I would also play it in the arcade at Showbiz Pizza (later to become Chucky Cheese) but that cost quarters. It was easier to commandeer my friend's C64 and hog it while I played this.
