Ah, Neutral Milk Hotel.  The most overrated album of all time.  Not to say it isn't good -- but damn is that thing revered.  It's a prerequisite to getting your hipster license where I come from.  It's unfortunate because it IS a good album, but it's certainly not the greatest thing on Earth like its fans portray it to be. 

It is good for what it is. I mean they are not The Dead Milkmen, but then again who is.Punknews has hyped them up a little so I checked them out.

yeah they're not bad, but in my old music scene they were exalted.  I never got it. 

First Neutral Milk Hotel is basically Jeff Mangum and secondly the album is indie pop or alt folk but it ain't punk, nor have any of the bands he's been involved with been punk or anything that could even see punk with a high powered telescope. LOL

I have the album but I'm not much of a fan.. 

Well, they are being talked about in the Punk community, there for they made the list. Now get off my back.

Sneenlantern, don't make me hurt you!  Just kidding, but I love Neutral Milk Hotel.  Aeroplane Over the Sea is definitely one of my favorite albums.  I'm pysched that they are touring again. I was thinking about going to see them at a festival in Asheville, NC, but the cheap tickets sold out within hours.

I've never considered them punk though. More like pysch-folk, maybe?

I also like Lucero.  I saw them at a small club where I live many years ago.

I've never heard of the Welch Boys (and can't listen to them now), but I'll have to check them out.  I love punk influenced by irish folk, and I'm assuming that's what they are?

I've always liked that Neutral Milk Hotel song, but never listened to the full album. I did find PBR to be an acceptable choice of beer when I drank it from what I remember though, and I have thought of buying vinyls and a player for them. Uh oh, I might be turning into one of them hipsters Sneen was mentioning! lol

Also liked the Bent Left, Lucero and Light Years songs.

I really just checked them out last week. There are so many bands out there it is hard to get to them all.

Can't believe I haven't heard of Neutral Milk Hotel. Dug that one a lot. I also like the drinking vibe of the last 3 songs. I have a few more hour to go before I can have a beer....damn! The Welch Boys were my favorite on the booze related songs. Light Years was awesome. I like when nerds just rock out like that. Those guys are great. The title of the Bent Left song is very timely. Lotsa folks doing just that these days.

Like the art work on the subway thugs CD. Just a bunch of peeps having a good time! lol.
