I remember going to a friend's house and playing this over there. Didn't really get into it, though. I just can't get into wrestling. Games or otherwise. Only other wrestling game I remember playing at a friend's house was Rumble Roses. That was, uh, something. I have friends who watch it on TV but it just never grabbed me.

A lot of games depend on buttonmashing, but few depend on buttonmashing as much as the NES's Pro Wresting. Of course, there's not much that's "Pro" about it - one of the characters, a half-beast fishman, has a special move where he chews on the opposing player's forehead. But, for my money, this is definitely the best wrestling game on the NES, and I spent hours playing it when I was a kid.
Featuring a colorful cast of wrestlers, and a wide assortment of (fake) wrestling moves, the game is pretty fun. The highlight of course is throwing your opponent out of the ring, and then running and leaping over the ropes to bodyslam them into the concrete. It's also fun to bash their heads into the base of the ring before the timer runs out.
My favorite wrestler was Starman, a pink clad wrestler whose special move was palming opponents' faces and squeezing their skulls until they collapse. Never gets old. But each wrestler has their signature moves.
But like I said, you're gonna be buttonmashing like crazy to get these moves off before your opponent does. The game is pretty much an extravaganza of humiliation.
Ah, they don't make 'em like they used to!
