Before we get started the breakfast of choice is leftover Wienerschnizel bacon wrapped hot dogs and what’s left of my chili cheese fries. This was actually supposed to be my dinner from last night but all I ate was the majority of the chili cheese fries while watching 90 Day Fiance. So Wienerschnizel is a hot dog chain where most of their food involves chili and cheese. I loved the place as a kid because the building is a long triangle with a slot cut in the middle for drive thru. Anyways as I wait for the impending heart burn and me questioning my breakfast choice let’s recap what I played.

Chris Finishes Two Games!

NFS Heat - Steam via Origin: So I already finished the main storyline, and the Black Market Storyline, so all that was left was to collect the Ultimate+ parts from racing Heat Level 5 races, collecting everything in the game (Flamingos, Spray Tags, and Billboards), and 3 stars on Drift and Speed Trap sections. My personal bonus was to buy every car in the game. On Friday I was about 80% finished, so Saturday was basically grab all the collectables and a couple of hours later, and thanks to online maps, I collected everything.

Overall the game was a lot of fun. Race, earn cash, flip it to night mode to earn rep points, get chased by the cops, rinse repeat. I spent I believe $27 on the deluxe version and I think I got everything out of it without playing online. There was a feature where every race saves your time and compares it to other people in your crew. Since I never changed my crew I was with other new people so it was fun to see where everyone stands. Straight up races I finished in the middle of the pack but drifting I was usually 1st or 2nd which is funny considering I’m not a fan of drifting in this game. It’s not as easy as earlier NFS games.

01a

I posted these two cards on Twitter. Since there is a solid car customization feature in this game I made two cars from the movies. There is a Boss Mustang so I will probably make Elenor from Gone in 60 Seconds.

Halo: Spartan Strike - Steam: This was a Sunday play through and full disclosure I used the WeMod Trainer for infinite ammo/health/credits and no reloading/overheating of weapons. Yeah full god mode. Yup random Halo guy waltz into 3/4 angle battle to take down the bad guys (no idea what they are called but they’re aliens). I like this game, the original game was fun, and this was just as fun and I got to learn something about Halo lore. This game is supposed to be a simulation of the events that take place in Halo 2 and Halo 4. Looks like I’m going to play Halo 2 and Halo 4. It’s a fun twin stick shooter and if I played the game like the developers wanted me to I would have used a lot more strategy than stand in the middle shooting off rockets while listening to the computer voice give me directions. There were some quirky points where controls were a little annoying, but will probably make me scream if/when I play my copy on the iPad, but that was the only major flaw in the game for me. Another fun game.

The Other Games

Madden 20 - Steam: I think my Cowboys Franchise is nearing the point when it is time to start rebuilding. The offense isn’t as explosive, and one of my go to receivers can’t catch anymore, to the point where I traded him out of frustration to Cleveland for OBJ who really can’t catch in this game just so I can start other players. This season maybe the last ride for my core group before I blow it up and start bringing in other talent.

Alright Pixlpeeps I am off. There’s blogs to be read. Have a good week!

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

Burnout satisfied my need for racing that at least looked more realistic than Mario Kart back in the 2000s. Unfortunately other than a remake of Burnout Paradise that recently released it didn't survive the 7th generation.

It's a shame really that Burnout didn't have a game for the PS4/X1 gen other than Paradise. I really enjoyed the Burnout games on the PSP and that type of game was really fun. Paradise and Ridge Racer Unbounded tried to be something different in a racer/car crashing which was fun but wasn't the same. Paradise did a better job at this.

Funny you mention Paradise because before I jumped into Heat I actually restarted Paradise on Steam.

I played Spartan Strike on 360 and I should have a copy for Xbox One because I got a copy before I actually got the Xbox One console, but I think it's not there. I'm going to go check.

Ha I have the same problem with COD Ghosts. I bought one of those digital versions where you buy the 360 version you should have the next gen version waiting for you. Since I don't have an X1 I have no idea if I do.

I remember selecting the Xbox One versions of Games with Gold freebies before I had a Xbox One. I think they were there when I got the system, but now I want to go check.

There's a Weiner Shcnitzel (sorry if I spelled it wrong) 30 minutes from me and I think I might try it since I've never had it.

Does the NFS Heat handling improve as you get better parts and such? It seems really slippery to me so far. Both the first car you drive in the cheesy "80s movies overzealous cop but he's after actually dangerous racers but also he wants to murder people he could just arrest" opening scene and the car I chose for the first few races after that just don't handle as tight as I remember vanilla PS4 NFS.

Granted, I tuned the crap out of my vanilla PS4 NFS car to make it that way, so is that the case here? Cause I'm not loving the steering around corners leading to donuts every time.

I wouldn't worrying about the spelling, I was looking at Google on my phone while typing it out.

Yeah once you move up in rep you can buy better parts, and usually your choice in tires fixes this issue. I had the same issue and I thought the game was really slippery but once you start buying the tires/cars and start mixing/matching parts while using the graph that tells you how your car handles it gets a lot better. Crazy thing is once you get use to tight racing you start to want to drift and then you're back to the crazy slippery handling.

Ok, sounds like it's closer to vanilla NFS then. Good to know, cause I was about to send it back. lol

When I lived in New York, I went to four (4!) separate hot dog centered restaurants. Two were good, and two not so good, with one giving me diarrhea. The worst was the coney island one. I'll never forget that crap.

Oh cool, you made Herbie!  I would totally make that car!  Other cars I would make would be the General Lee from Dukes of Hazzard and Sam & Max's DeSoto.
