How though? A quarantine blog

I tested positive for Sars-Cov 2 on July 18 and received results July 24. I am therefore in quarantine until August 1, which ... is not entirely different from what I was doing already, so what the hell? Literally my only consistent symptom is a mild cough which I've had forever now.

Everywhere I went, mask on. Have not been indoors any place unless I was literally seated alone away from everyone but the masked server, with a mask on if I was not eating or drinking.

I did run with someone from Austin who works as a medic on July 11, but figured outside and not really that close to each other was fine. I don't think we were in any formation to make that wind tunnel effect thing happen.

Otherwise, attended a yoga class a little over 48 hours from getting tested but was way more than 6 feet from anyone and had a mask on, as did all other patrons. Hmm ... there were potato chips next to me though. Gross. Not my potato chips. Avoided touching them.

Roommate thinks he could have given it to me, but to be honest we don't even talk to each other in close proximity. We're not unfriendly but not in each others' faces either. And he was in Oregon during this thing's supposed incubation period. But it's pretty much either him, my workout buddy who I've exercise with since May, or just circulated air in indoor settings fucking me over.

Or it's a false positive. That possibility is not lost on me.

Anyway, thus far:

No gaming and doomscrolling through social media while being aggressively loud with my vocal opinions. So I guess the virus not only affects the elderly the most but also makes gives you the brain of an elderly person on Facebook.

DoorDash is expensive. I still need to clean.

Anyway, if this test is accurate I'm not too susceptible to this thing but definitely plan to be even more careful (running alone for now, no indoor eating outside home, etc.) to prevent spread.

Have been washing my hands 20 seconds or more. Have been wearing a mask. Have been social distancing. Guess I just need to social distance harder.

... Seriously, fucking DoorDash, I swear.

I'm sorry about that, man. I hope you don't get any bad symptoms. I guess you're the first Pixlbit person to get it (that I know of). My brother's boss has it here in Arizona, but my brother was tested and came up negative. I've been doing all the grocery shopping here, but I worry I'm gonna get it and give it to my parents.

I've visited my parents a couple times during this and feared the same, but I really think at this point you're probably doing enough to keep them safe so long as you stay vigilant.

That sucks but lucky that you have mild symptoms. I think I got it back in February, but it was before it was considered a threat to America and my doctor didn't say anything about testing. My girlfriend got it soon after I did but she got tested for antibodies recently, four months later, and came up negative. It doesn't mean she didn't have it though. I still think I had it back then. All the symptoms say to me, yes.

Anyway, good luck. I hear Texas is really blowing up with the virus right now. Stay safe.

I have a few friends who said they thought they might have had it in early Spring as well.

Texas and a lot of other states, yeah.

Thanks for the well wishes!

I'm very sorry you got the virus and hopefully you will get better soon and your symptoms won't worsen.

I don't think the so-called experts really know all the ways we can get the Corona virus.  I think at this point, if you're going to get it, you're going to get it.  I'm surprised I haven't gotten it yet, seeing as I work in retail and have been on the front lines since day one.  But I guess it's best to not dwell on how you may have gotten it.  We should all be careful but at the end of the day, we still have to live our lives as best as possible.  But I think I'll stop talking about the Corona virus now.  Any more and you all would think I'm some kind of crackpot conspiracy theorist or something, so I'll shut up about it now.

Maybe you'll be able to take advantage of this time and sink your teeth into a really good game or TV series on Netflix (I recommend The Dark Crystal).  And you can read game reviews and blogs from certain people as well! :)

How are you doing on your workouts?  In the past year and a half, I've gained about 12 pounds of muscle!

This Corona virus thing just SUCKS, plain and simple.

It does suck, indeed.

My work outs are going pretty well, though I'll probably be staying away from gyms still. I have lost 20 lbs or so thus far, but I think I gained some muscle in the process. Maybe. Hopefully. lol

Yeah most of my workouts are at home now.  If I could still go to a gym I'd probably have gained 15 pounds of muscle by now.  I was making pretty good progress.

Sorry to hear about this. Seems like you're almost over with quarantine so there is some good news. Hope you stay well.

I have to do all the shopping for my parents too so I'm always feeling anxious when I have to go out in public spaces. I've just been avoiding going out unless it's necessary. I exercise at home and walk/jog in my neighborhood which is mostly empty.

I don't have anyone to shop for but otherwise I am in the same boat.

You're the second friend from 1up I know who has it. I had a really bad cold back in January/February with a bad cough, but no fever, no loss of smell or taste, etc. Both Jason and my mom were around me a lot, and neither caught anything from me, so I'm pretty sure it was just the common cold from hell.

Mine's not even from hell. I've joked this is the same cough I've had since high school.

However, that makes it more difficult for me to know when I can safely come out of quarantine, given I think the 10 days requirement CDC guidelines currently recommends means 10 days from the start of your symptoms ... we're like 20/30+ days from the start of my symptoms. No one I interacted with has any symptoms and only my roommate has bothered to get tested (which is fair, given that I last interacted with anyone on an outdoor run where no one was within my six feet bubble).

On that note, pretty wild my roommate's mom, who lives in Maine was able to get her test results within an hour, whereas I *just* gained the ability to receive a test with only mild symptoms and it took 5-6 days to learn of results.

Damn man I'm sorry to read this. It's crazy how if you do all the precautions yet somehow it still happens. Since I'm late to your blog I'm hoping all is well and since I read your Social Media blog, take a break and get off social media Tongue Out

Yeah Doordash is a rip. I wanted to order from this one place but with the cost of the food along with Doordash it was literally cheaper to order from WingStop with double the food, and with delivery was at least $10 cheaper. Nuts.

DoorDash is a scam!
