In non-videogame news, after years of talking about it (decades, really), I'm on a fitness program. For the past two months, I've been walking (almost) every morning, and I'm up to a mile and a half in 25 minutes. For the past month, I've been lifting weights about six days a week (different muscle groups on different days) and doing yoga every day. I'm down to 184 again after the past six months of stress-eating and sliding backwards, and my belly is shrinking. I'm also building muscle - I'm really proud of my calves and thighs right now. Overall I feel great. It's pretty addictive, actually, if you stick with it. Dieting has taught me to stick with it if I miss a day or two, and not get discouraged to break the routine. And like with dieting, it's nice to see the hard work resulting in differences in my body. Very proud of myself. Laughing

Nice. I wish I could do some things too like stretching, but I'm always recovering from my job. I've been doing a lot of cooking though; I make everything I eat now.

Yoga feels great, and I only do it in half hour sessions. I have apps on my ipad and phone that have instructional videos.

Good stuff. I'd like to do Tai Chi one of these days too.

Congratulations!  That's so awesome!  I think you weigh less than I do now!  Keep up the great work and continue to keep us posted!  I'd love to hear your progress.

Over the past year and a half, I've practially doubled how much I exersize and I've gotten some great results.  Right before COVID, I was even starting to see a six pack!  But then COVID happened and slowed things down a bit, but I'm still working at it.  Over the past year and a half, I've gained about 15 pounds of muscle.  I don't look super buff or anything, but some friends have told me I looked ripped.  I don't know if they're telling the truth or just trying to make me feel good.  But sometimes I surprise customers at work with how strong I am.  I do really miss going to the gym, though.  But at least I think I have some muscles and I feel pretty strong.

yeah I still have a bit of a belly, but its slowly decreasing. I do everything at home, with dumbbells... I have an app on my phone with instructions and I can also track my exercises.

That's cool. My iPad is basically my personal trainer now. :)  I don't like Nike, but they do have a decent free fitness app with videos of workouts.  And Under Armor has an app to track nutrition if you're into counting your macros and stuff.  And feel free to ask me any questions, too.  I've considered weightlifting my second hobby after video games. :)

Where I work has helped out a bit, too, as I lift a lot of 100 pound toilets and toolboxes.  Just yesterday a customer was struggling to pick up a toilet and I ran over and picked it up and put it in her cart effortlessly and she said, "GOOD GOSH YOU'RE STRONG!!!"

Nice! I'm not even down to 184 yet. Good work, man.

Thank you. The stress eating definitely took its toll.

Keep it up and yes it is ok to not do something every day and falter. I started a walking program back in March of this year. My average has been over 10 km a day, sometime a little less, sometimes a little more.

Last week I didn't get in much at all but I'm back to it again this week.

I went from 215 to 172.6 (and I seem to have stabilized around there which it good)

I didn't make any real changes to my diet, I just manage to work it off through walking.

I'm not sure I can ever do anything about my belly. I seem to have lost all the strength in my core. Can't even manage 1 sit up anymore.

Then again the muscles in my abdomen have a vertical tear in them. It's been there since I was a teenager but seems to have gotten worse. When I attempt a situp or crunch or whatever it looks like an alien is going to burst out of my abdomen.

I've been trying to find ways to deflate it but nothing seems to work.
