That Carrion game makes me think of an old Genesis game called The Ooze. You can play it on some of the classic collections.

Games Beaten
-Carrion (Xbox Game Pass)
You play as an amorphous, many-mouthed monstrosity that escapes containment in a secret science facility. Simple movement is so satisfying in this game. So is eating humans. The various upgrades work well to aid progression and the game has definite puzzle vibes at times. I wish the extra energy upgrades actually mattered and not knowing where to go was a big problem near the end. Most importantly, though, the game does not overstay its welcome, and so none of the nitpicks are too damning.
-New Super Luigi U (Wii U)
I found this game frustrating in co-op (and that's after playing all the console New SMB games with multiple people) but I enjoyed plowing through it solo. The levels are harder and lack checkpoints but are much shorter. It was a good time, mostly, and I got to play that Van Gogh level again!
-Strikers 1945 (Switch)
This arcade shmup from 1995 is good for some quick fun on the lower difficulties but gets too quarter munchy on the higher ones. It is very loosely based on WWII but I love how all the bosses turn into giant mechs at some point. There is a nice variety of ships that play differently and it's certainly not a long game, so playing through it multiple times isn't burdensome. You just have to beat the last two levels without continuing or you start the level over.
-Astral Chain (Switch)
I appreciate Astral Chain's unusual premise and setting and the game feels great to play. But I have a few complaints, like the red matter clean up, which quickly felt tedious, and the side quests could drag at times. Each legion has a tech tree but they feel superfluous in the normal mode (until the final boss—so hard!). I often forgot I had points to spend! The story is also nonsense even by anime standards, but the game itself was a lot of fun to play, regardless of my quibbles.
Games Bought
September turned out to be a very tight month and we bought zero games, though I did pick up the two PS+ games for PS4. I could potentially see myself trying Street Fighter V at some point but probably not PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds. Still, it seemed like a good thing to have.
Games Being Played
-God Eater 3 (PS4)
I am two trophies away from getting the Platinum and then I'll be done with this game.
-Destiny 2 (PS4)
Trying to clean up some quest lines before half the planets go away into the new content vault in November.
Looks like I need to start some new games!
