I had this game at one time and played it. It didn't really hook me strangely but it should have.

General Chaos is a tongue-in-cheek military strategy game for the Sega Genesis developed by Game Refuge and released by EA in 1993. Players select one of four groups of soldiers, each made of different classes similar to Team Fortress - there's a machine gunner, a flamethrower guy, a rocketlauncher guy, etc. Each soldier has different moves, and you can also pick up items on the battlefield and hail a medic in certain situations to rescue downed men. The game is a bit simple compared to modern games, but was quite complex for the Sega Genesis.
I've never played this. But my roommate and I got our hands on this game (which I had never heard of as a kid) when we were collecting video games in the late nineties in San Francisco. Another one of my friends was visiting from the east coast, and my roommate and my visitor played this game OVER AND OVER. Apparently, it's really fun. It even includes a four-player mode if you have the gamepad adapter.
It IS chaotic. :)
