A lively solo-piano arrangement from the Mana game we never got

Starlight Festival

From: Seiken Densetsu 3

Remixed by: Kiamet

Rarely do you find a piano remix with this much energy. The strong Spanish influence is fitting and you can notice it especially with things like strong off beats in the left hand. Something is always going on. Pair the great arrangement with stellar production values and you have a mix that's a pleasure to listen to. What's really cool is that the remixer was later contacted by Hitoshi Sakimoto about producing an entire arrangement album for Valkyria Chronicles (it's on iTunes). Now that's an opportunity rarely given to the fan artist!

Nice song. One of these days I want to finish Seiken Densetsu 3. I'm not really the biggest fan of Secret of Mana, but I liked the third one a lot. It sucks we never got an actual release of it over here in the US. I would have loved to have a SNES cart. Frown

I got to play Secret of Mana with my two brothers back in the day because we had a friend who had the game and a multitap. That's definitely the way to do it Smile I've never played the third game but I've heard lots of good things about it. Man, I can't get into Legend of Mana though. I've tried probably half a dozen times through the years.

Seiken Densetsu 3 is awesome btw. It never made it to the states officially but it has a fully translated rom out there on the internet. All you need is a snes emulator to play it! Check out cool roms!

It's one of those games that I intend to play the fan-translated version of someday. After all, there's basically no barrier for entry other than finding a decent SNES emulator. Mother 3 is the other game like that I want to play eventually.

Yeah, Hitoshi Sakimoto is a pretty big name in video game music. Glad you enjoyed the song.

I've yet to play the Mana series. I know how legendary this one is for not having been officially localized.

Hitoshi Sakimoto just might be my favorite game composer. The range of his music is just so amazing.

Secret of Mana is probably the best place to jump in because it's readily available on Virtual Console, though the best way to play it is with two friends or siblings. That's a blast. Final Fantasy Adventure on the Game Boy, which is actually the first Mana game, is pretty good. Legend of Mana on the PS1 is a love it or hate it kind of game. I think it's hard to get into Undecided The rest are kind of hit or miss, unfortunately, except Seiken Densetsu 3...but like you said, it's never been officially localized Frown

Secret Of Mana is one I've never played. If this is an example of the music I should. That was really good. Like the piano quite a bit.

If you can round up two peeps to sit on the sofa and play it with you, definitely give it a go. It's a ton of fun and readily available on Virtual Console.

not bad, not bad. Personally I go for my piano arrangements to be of a slower tempo like what's heard in Macross Plus. Too use to the torch themes I guess.

One of the great things about the piano is that it can facilitate such a wide variety of styles. It can cater to everyone, more or less.
