Good afternoon Pixlpeeps! A little advance warning, this might be short because I am updating my digital library and its moving files from A to B and making sure the tags are good. The never ending fun continues. Anyways I did my Game Goals so now its time for my Quick Hits Goals

2021 Non Gaming Goals

  1. Listen to a new album everyday: Over the years I’ve collected a lot of digital music, and I’ve been more hoarder than anything. To start the year I canceled my Spotify Premium because I only used it occasionally. Now I have a reason to listen to my digital library, discover new to me music, and enjoy my collection.
  2. Finish books: I tend to start a lot of books, but I don’t finish them. I’d like to change this. Heck I have a lot of books from Amazon that are free, as well as a library card where I have access to their online library. I’m going to finish those books that I check out and start.
  3. Exercise More: Same thing every year. I’ll probably start walking again. Heck I could listen to a new album while walking.
  4. Save Money: I really don’t need to explain this one.

I’ll probably add to this as the year goes on because something will pop up that I want to improve on or just start.

Chris Watches:

I’m on my steady diet of reality tv like The Challenge, 90 Day Fiance, and others but I have been watching Little House on the Prairie. I don’t know if I mentioned it before but I’ve been watching this for a bit and I think I may have gone through the entire series at least three times. Sometimes you want to watch a show with a positive message.

Chris Listens:

I’ve cut a lot of podcasts out of my routine, and I canceled Spotify. I only really used it when I was in the shower, and on Friday I would browse the new music, realize I don’t like 70% of it and then go back to listening to podcasts or whatever was on my music player. This wasn’t a good use of $10 a month even with the free Hulu.

Alright Pixlpeeps I am off. Have a good weekend!

That’s all for now, more later!

-Chris

I realized today that I'm a traitor to my own goals, so now I'm afraid to make any, especially ones that are supposedly good for me. I've been sticking to my reading goals though. Possibly, I only stick to goals that aren't the most beneficial to me. Maybe that's the problem.

I say the month of January is a time to start, sometimes restart, and restart again. Never too late to start something that is good for you.

Also I almost bought games because they were really cheap, and the crazy thing was that I already own the vanilla version, really didn't care for the DLC but the Deluxe Edition was so cheap it was maybe $3 under the price of the DLC by itself.

There are some good deals every week now, it seems. So tempting, but I just put them on my wish list now.

The thing I remember about Little House on the Prairie when I was a kid was that it came on TV after the weekday afternoon cartoons were over.  Around 5 o'clock or so.  So it was kind of an in-betweener from the cartoons and the evening news.  And that was usually about the time I'd start on my homework if I had any.

Have you watched any movies lately?  I just watched Soul and the new Wonder Woman movies over the holidays and would love to hear your opinions on them if you watched them.

Good luck on your goals.  I've been sticking with my 'exercise more' goal for the past two years, working out nearly everyday.  And now I've gained about 20 pounts of muscle!

I like how you had Little House during that time and when I was growing up right around the same time my local channel would show I Dream of Jeannie, and Bewitched.

I've been lazy when it comes to new movies. The one that I watched that was new to me was when I watched Hollywoodland. Loved this movie even if I felt bad for the two main characters. Other than that I've been on a steady diet of CHiPs, Top Gun, and Twilight (the odd one in the group) and Miami Vice. They've been on constant rotation on HBO and I think Showtime. I'll probably get round to Soul and WW 1984 maybe around Spring. I still have the recut version of Godfather 3 that I need to watch...oh Godfather and Godfather II have been on and I always watch those.

Thanks! and congrats man! That's a lot of hard work but rewarding. I really need to get going on starting to walk around again.

Well I'll tell you about Soul and WW84 since I can probably do so without spoiling them for you.

Soul is good but not great.  It's a little weird and has a lot of missed opportunities for a more cohesive storyline. But it's also one of those movies that up for personal interpretation, so maybe I didn't view it the way others did.

WW84 was too slow for a 2 and a half hour long movie.  And for a movie set in the 80s, they missed the opportunity to have a rockin' 80s soundtrack!  And the movie is supposed to be set in 1984, but in an arcade in the film, they had an Operation Wolf machine, which didn't come out until 1987!  But then, I'm probably the only one who cares about stuff like that.  Also, Gal Gadot ate her spinach.

And those are my movie reviews!

The DC Universe movie wise hasn't been great. Lots of interesting storylines but it didn't click with me. Maybe the Marvel Universe ruined it because they would incorporate stuff from the movies into the events of Agents of SHIELD. I would have liked the DC TV Universe to be connected with the Movie Universe. I really hoped Wonder Woman would have been that character from the current Justice League members to be the one to fix this but I really wasn't into the first movie and the second really didn't appeal to me.

I figured Soul would be a typical Disney movie that I would eventually watch and probably enjoy.

Thanks for the reviews!

I'm trying to listen to more podcasts. There are a lot about books and authors out there, and I enjoy them when I listen to them, but it's hard sometimes for me to decide to listen to one.

There's a lot of good ones with interesting topics. I would say download/stream an episode and see if you like it. Usually what bothers me are the hosts or the flow of the show.
