Playing The Same...Why Is Solitaire So Addictive?

January has been a rough month, it’s like 2020 said “I’m not done yet” and continued. I’m hoping February is completely different and I can get back to just normal. Nothing fancy, just normal. Wake up, brush/floss, wait the 30 minutes, eat breakfast, do work. That’s it. This past week I did get away in terms of just focusing on gaming or music for a moment here or there and just escape.

2021 Updates:

In January I started 3 games, I stopped playing 1 (Forza Motorsport 7), and paused one (Narcos: Rise of the Cartels) because it wasn't what I thought it was and I didn't have the time dedicated to playing it. In January I did finish 1 (Crackdown 3).

Forza Horizon 4 - XBox Game Pass: I have no idea if I am close to finishing but I do have a month left on my 3 month $1 trial so I’m going to sink as much time as possible into it. I found 10 barns, I think I hit the top level of off road racing, and I started to tackle the danger jumps. I’m actually surprised that I haven’t used my trusty friend (Google) to look for anything other than the barn locations.

Madden 20 - PC (Origin): I played another game with the Detroit Lions but when I have a free moments I started designing elements for the Arizona Cardinals uniforms that I want to use for my next Franchise. I’m ready to actually start putting things together and playing with the birds.

NBA 2K18 - PC (Steam): Out of the blue I decided to play some ball. I fired up a game save from 2019, played a game and then went about my day. I might just start a new Franchise and even though I can’t create a new team I’ll probably use a bad squad, trade the stars away, and have a stable of young guns to run wild.

Agents Of Mayhem - PC (Steam): I’ve been going through Crackdown withdrawals so I started this back up and I didn’t realize how bad it runs on my laptop. I play through a mission and I am dizzy. It might be the bad frame rate (it’s the bad frame rate) but its one of those games I should hold off on until I get a better system.

Pocket City - iOS: I started a new city and I’m slowly going through it instead of trying to finish the game as fast as possible.

Solitaire - iOS: Seriously this game gets the most playing time. During commercial breaks, during slow points in shows, hell during some tv shows I’m on the phone/iPad just flipping cards.

I guess that’s all I’ve been playing. I need to catch up here and get the morning going. Anyways have a good week!

That’s all for now, more later!

There is way too much 2020 garbage just lingering around in this year.

Way too much. I'm ready to go back to just being able to do normal activities without having to grab a mask on the way out the door.

I keep thinking of reinstalling Microsoft Solitaire Collection to my phone. It's really good but I've got enough to do already.

It's fun in quick bursts. The version on my phone I use when I'm waiting for food pickup.

I keep giving Cities: Skylines the side eye when I'm on Steam. One of these days, I'm gonna play it.

I keep seeing that game as well. I'm with you, and one day I'll give it a spin. Either I'll really love it or be snarky and say Sim City 2000 would run circles around it.

I hope someday you get a chance to break out the ol' 3DS and see if you can still download Pocket Card Jockey.  Such an addictive game!

I should fire it up before they shut down the store.
