I'm hoping to play some Assassin's Creed Odyssey this year. I'll probably rent it from my library.
BaD: In which the inconsistent blogger returns...

So...late October was my last post date? Good to know that nothing has changed. We're about to enter the last week of February so let's see if I can make an effort to blog more before BaD 2021 wraps up.
Right now, the winter storm is ravaging states like the one I live in (Arkansas). So far, I haven't lost any utilities (the cable/internet was temporarily out last Saturday) but the reports from Texas are terrifying. I hope that residents there can get help real soon. That's no way to live.
Work is going well. No big developments there. Did get a raise at the end of the year. Christmas vacation came and went. My family and I were as careful as could be so I did get to see them. My nephew is about to turn 2 years old in a week so I may see some family members again unless something prevents that.
Gaming-wise? Bought a few more games for the Switch: New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe, Super Mario Bros 3D All-Stars, Hades, Dragon Quest III and Sega Ages: Thunder Force. I'm still doing my dailies for Animal Crossing and I'm putting in more time in Breath of the Wild (really focused on upgrading those armor pieces; conquered three of the Divine Beasts). 3D All-Stars has been really divisive but I think its a solid collection. I'm glad that I can play Super Mario Galaxy without motion controls. Hades is so much fun but it'll take so many runs for me to conquer that one. Great story though. Best game of last year.
Speaking of Animal Crossing, it's almost been a year of playing it and I haven't had any visitors. I'm hoping to change that soon. If any players would like the idea of me visiting or if you'd want to come to my island, lemme know. We'll exchange friend codes and just pray that our schedules line up.
Now, this next game purchase is something that's legal and illegal at the same time. Via Amazon, you can get these bootleg DS compilation carts that have hundreds of DS games that are compatible with the 3DS and certain DS models. These carts have a lot of junk on them but there's one collection - with 208 games - that is very RPG heavy and its easily the best collection. All of the Pokemon/Dragon Quest/Harvest Moon/Final Fantasy/Professor Layton/Phoenix Wright/Kirby/Castlevania/Super Mario Bros/Legend of Zelda DS games. And some notable titles like The World Ends With You, Phantasy Star Zero, Etrian Odyssey, two Advance Wars games and on and on. Now, I did pay for this ($30) but it is a Chinese bootleg product. I don't usually buy things like this but this is a cheap and efficient way to catch up on the insanely good DS library.
I also got a used copy of New Super Mario Bros 2. I love that series. I know it shows its limitations in certain areas but its dependable fun.
On Xbox, there's been a lot of emphasis on Assassin's Creed Odyssey. I progressed further in the story and its a more engrossing story than I first thought. Maybe not as good as Origins or the Ezio trilogy but solid enough. Kassandra is a great character and I love that my ship is customized with female assassins and two of my lieutenants are Evie from AC Syndicate and Aya from Origins. It's the best.
I did get Black Ops Cold War on Xbox at the end of the year and have been playing that with some friends. It's reliable fun but it also feels like you level up slower than you did in Modern Warfare.
Being that this is part of a series, I'll end it here and blog some more soon. Just wanted to let people know that I'm still around. Stay safe and warm, everyone.
