I've heard that FF7R tends to pad out the game with annoying side missions. It just baffles me that they even called it "remake" since it's nothing like the original, even the story moves in a different direction.

Games Beaten
Aaaannnnd...nothing. But I made some good progress on things.
Games Bought
March morphed into a decent acquisitions month. The first thing I got, ironically, is something I didn't have to pay for. I've entered a lot of those like/follow/retweet giveaways on Twitter because they're so easy to do and it finally paid off (which I never actually expected to happen lol). I won a free copy of Shmup Collection (Switch)! Catchy title, no? It has three games I've never heard of—Satazius Next, Armed Seven DX, and Wolflame—but they all seem pretty solid. We bought Borderlands 3 (PS4) in hopes of some co-op action with friends (it was very cheap) and Kirby: Planet Robobot (3DS) because I've always wanted it. I downloaded Picross S2 on my Switch Lite and that, my friends, is probably the biggest hit I took in productivity all month. But that's not the end of the buys, no sir. Hades (Switch) got a physical release last month and that probably poses as much danger to me as Picross does but I haven't started it yet. My wife bought For the King (Switch), a roguelike adventure game with a tabletop aesthetic. Looks neat.
I succumbed to Switch RPG lust in March, snapping up Cat Quest and Cat Quest II (in a handy collection), Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth and Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth: Hacker's Memory (another handy collection)—I loved the Digimon show back at the turn of the millennium but never played any of the games because, before these, there weren't any good ones—and Final Fantasy XII: The Zodiac Age (not in a collection with anything but I won't hold that against it). Whew!
Finally, PS+ games. I was surprised to see Final Fantasy VII Remake (PS4)...but the announcement came the same day Square Enix revealed an enhanced PS5 version. There's going to be a free upgrade for PS4 users that, as I understand it, the PS+ version of FFVIIR won't be eligible for. Those sneaky bastards. I added Remnant: From the Ashes (PS4) to my library purely "just in case." It's a three-player co-op action game. Maybe we'll play it one day, probably not, but at least I have it. Just in case. Oh, and I grabbed the PSVR game Farpoint 'cause I love sci-fi stuff even though I'll probably never get a PSVR.
But just in case.
Games Being Played
-Dragon's Crown Pro (PS4)
Nearly finished with this. My friends I'm playing with are big completionists, so I'm going for the Platinum. Just a handful more trophies to go.
-Final Fantasy VII Remake (PS4)
I suggested to my older brother that we play this since it's on PS+ and we played the original back in the day. We could talk about it as we played through. But I think we've both only played a few times (two in my case). I'm in chapter 3. It's sure pretty. I'm not 100% sold on the battle system yet but I'm not against it. My main problem...is that I bit off my than I can chew when I started this. I really didn't have time to begin another RPG. *sigh*
-Picross S2 (Switch)
I love Picross. It's so easy to pop in for 5...10...40 minutes. Whatever. I could stop any time I wanted...
-Sakura Wars (PS4)
I made quite a bit of progress on this game in the last few weeks. I really like it. It's soooo anime lol
*a note on Octopath Traveler*
I've decided to put down Octopath for now. I loved the first 40 hours—like, Game of the Year kind of enjoyment—but the 20 hours after that we kind of a slog and I feel no motivation to keep going. The story in this game is such a missed opportunity. On the bright side, this is a very easy game to pick up later and continue, so maybe I'll come back to it later.
